Studnicka was placed on waivers Sunday for the purpose of reassignment to the AHL.
Studnicka tallied four goals and eight points in 47 games with Vancouver last season following a trade from the Bruins. If he clears waivers, the 24-year-old center will start the year with AHL Abbotsford, where he'll serve as a depth option.
