De Leo signed a one-year, two-way contract with the Devils on Wednesday, Darren Dreger of TSN reports.
De Leo has five NHL appearances to his name, but he's yet to play more than two games in any season. The 25-year-old forward could get a look at a bottom-six job with the rebuilding Devils, but it's more likely he'll spend most of the season with AHL Utica.
