Mayhew was Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia from AHL Lehigh Valley on Tuesday.
With Derick Brassard (lower body) expected to miss out versus Washington on Tuesday, Mayhew figures to step into a bottom-six role for the club. The 28-year-old winger has yet to get into a game for the Flyers this season but has been lighting it up in the minors, having racked up nine goals and six helpers in 23 games for the Phantoms.
