Palmieri scored two goals in Tuesday's 6-3 loss to the Sabres.
He beat Dustin Tokarski in the first and third periods in his return from paternity leave, but Palmieri was just about the only bright spot for the Islanders on the night. Amazingly for a player with his resume, the tallies were only the second and third of the season for the 31-year-old, with his only other goal coming Nov. 16.
