Islanders' Travis Mitchell: Heading back to AHL

Mitchell was returned to AHL Bridgeport on Wednesday, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.

Mitchell was recalled by the Islanders last Wednesday but didn't make his NHL debut during his week with the big club. He'll head back to the minors, where he's tallied a goal and three points over eight appearances with Bridgeport to begin the year.
