Oilers' Max Jones: Not playing Friday

Coach Kris Knoblauch said Friday that Jones (undisclosed) will miss Friday's game in Vancouver but will be ready for the start of the regular season, per Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton.

Jones split last year between Boston and Edmonton, registering a goal and an assist in 19 regular-season games with the Oilers after going scoreless in seven contests with the Bruins. Look for Jones to play a bottom-six role this season.
