Ouellet was sent down to AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton on Thursday.
Ouellet was recalled Tuesday and played in Wednesday's preseason game versus Detroit. He scored the lone Pittsburgh goal in a 2-1 loss. Ouellet had two goals and 17 points in 29 AHL contests last season.
