Watson was waived by the Predators on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.
Watson was Nashville's first-round (18th) overall selection in the 2010 NHL Entry Draft. He made his way into 57 games with the parent club last season, but was commonly left as a healthy scratch. He proved to be a quality scorer in the minors, though, so perhaps he'll be called up when injuries threaten the big club.
