Miller has been promoted to the second line for Friday night's road contest against the Avalanche, Steve Zipay of Newsday reports.

Miller, the Rangers' 15th overall pick of 2011, reportedly will line up on the right wing opposite Chris Kreider with Derek Stepan at center. Miller logged 16:02 TOI on Tuesday against the Capitals, his second-highest output this season, so it appears the Rangers are ready to give him more chances to thrive. Meanwhile, Jesper Fast gets pushed down to the bottom-six assembly of forwards.
