Carpenter was placed on waivers Thursday, according to Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet.

Carpenter has a goal and two assists in 21 games, and has been a healthy scratch in four of the last five games. Should he pass through waivers, he will likely be sent to AHL Hartford.
