Red Wings' Carter Mazur: Sent down Friday

Mazur was assigned to AHL Grand Rapids on Friday.

Mazur had an opportunity to compete for a role with the Red Wings during training camp, but he'll be left off the team's Opening Night roster. He made 20 regular-season appearances in the AHL last year, recording eight goals, seven assists and eight PIM. It wouldn't be surprising to see him spend most of this year with Grand Rapids.
