  • Vrana scored a goal on two shots and added an assist in a 3-2 win over the Devils on Sunday. Vrana got the Capitals on the board with 4:21 left in the opening period, following his own rebound to tie the game at 1-1. He later assisted on Nicklas Backstrom's second-period tally for his first multi-point performance since Feb. 1. Vrana has scored in back-to-back games after a bit of a quiet stretch in his previous five outings. The 24-year-old now has seven goals and seven assists in 20 games this season.

Vrana has posted three goals and four points in his last eight games, giving him 12 points in 19 games on the season. The 25-year-old has been somewhat inconsistent in his production, leading to some shuffling in the lineup to the frustration of fantasy managers.

  • Vrana collected a goal on three shots and added a pair of hits Sunday in a 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh. Vrana tied the game at 2-2 early in the second period when he located a loose puck in front and swept a backhander past Pittsburgh netminder Tristan Jarry. It snapped a six-game goal drought for Vrana, who missed Washington's previous game last Sunday due to the NHL's COVID-19 protocols. A 20-goal scorer each of the last two seasons, Vrana should receive a lift from the return of center Evgeny Kuznetsov (COVID-19 protocol), who was back in the lineup for the first time since Jan. 19.

  • Vrana has been removed from the NHL's COVID-19 protocols list, Tarik El-Bashir of The Athletic reports. Vrana missed Sunday's loss to the Flyers after being added to the protocols list Saturday, but he'll be eligible to return for the Capitals' next contest, which is currently scheduled for Sunday versus Pittsburgh.
