Kakko scored twice on three shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over Dallas. Kakko was mired in a 14-game goal drought coming into Tuesday's contest before breaking loose for a pair in the second period. The 19-year-old has endured some lengthy dry spells during his rookie season but has still contributed a respectable 10 goals and 23 points in his first 65 NHL games.
Kakko scored the game-winning goal on two shots and was plus-2 in Sunday's 4-1 win over the Kings. Kaako banged home a one-timer midway through the third period to not only give the Rangers a 2-0 lead, but to end his 13-game goal drought. It was the eighth tally of the year and first since Jan. 2 for the 18-year-old rookie, who has hit the scoresheet in three of his four games (one goal, two assists). He's up to 19 points in 50 games this season.
Kakko scored a goal and added a power-play assist in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Flames. Kakko's shot allowed Filip Chytil to knock in a rebound in the first period. The Finnish youngster then scored his seventh goal of the season in the second. The 18-year-old is up to 16 points, including 10 on the power play, and a minus-14 rating through 36 games. Despite the limited offense, fantasy owners in keeper formats will want to hang onto the second-overall pick from 2019.
Kakko (undisclosed) is in line to rejoin the lineup Friday against the Hurricanes, Vincent Z. Mercogliano of The Journal News reports. Kakko hit a slow patch in the four games prior to his injury, going pointless with a minus-2 rating over that span. That doesn't mean he's been useless from a fantasy standpoint, as the rookie winger has totaled 14 points (six goals, eight assists) over the first 32 games of the campaign. While he may not currently fit the bill of a mainstay in certain fantasy formats, Kakko will undoubtedly have numerous fantasy-relevant campaigns in the future.
Kakko (undisclosed) will not suit up for Monday's contest in Philadelphia, Vince Mercogliano of USA Today reports. Kakko will miss his second straight game after blocking a shot during last Friday's tilt against the Maple Leafs. It's unclear how serious the injury is but the Rangers may be holding the rookie forward out as a precaution with the holiday break coming up. Kakko's next chance to suit up will be Friday against the Hurricanes.
