Annunen has struggled this campaign, posting a 1-4-1 record, 3.83 GAA and .846 save percentage in nine appearances this season. Going up against the Avalanche isn't likely to give him better results. Colorado is 22-2-7 and ranks first in goals per game with 4.00. Annunen began his NHL career with Colorado before being traded to Nashville during the 2024-25 campaign. He's making his first career start against his former team.

Soderblom will guard the home goal versus the Red Wings on Saturday, Tracey Myers of NHL.com reports.
Soderblom has allowed 20 goals on 113 shots during his three-game losing streak. He's not in a particularly good spot for this contest, as the Blackhawks are in the second half of a back-to-back. The Red Wings have scored 23 goals over their last six games, going 4-1-1 in that span.

Hellebuyck will start at home versus the Capitals on Saturday, Ken Wiebe of The Winnipeg Free Press reports.
Hellebuyck will return from a 12-game absence. The 32-year-old netminder was initially expected to miss at least four weeks due to arthroscopic knee surgery, but he's back in action just three weeks after the operation. He went 2-3-0 with 14 goals allowed over five games in November prior to his absence. The Capitals have scored 21 goals over their last six contests.

Ducks' Lukas Dostal: Allows three goals in injury return
Dostal made 18 saves on 21 shots in a 4-1 loss to the Devils on Saturday. The fourth goal was an empty-netter.
Dostal made his first appearance after missing nine games with an upper-body injury. He looked good, but the Devils were better. This season, Dostal is 11-6-1 with a 2.83 GAA and a .902 save percentage.

Hellebuyck (knee) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site.
A starting goaltender for Saturday's home matchup against Washington has yet to be confirmed, but Hellebuyck appears to be available to return following an 11-game absence. He has posted a record of 8-6-0 this season with a 2.51 GAA and a .913 save percentage through 14 appearances this season.

Kochetkov will defend the road net against the Flyers on Saturday, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports.
Kochetkov made 19 saves on 22 shots in a 4-1 loss to San Jose last Sunday, with the fourth goal being an empty-netter. He has a 4-1-0 record in six appearances this season while stopping 107 of the 117 shots he has faced. Philadelphia sits 23rd in the league with 2.82 goals per game this year.

Allen made 30 saves in a 4-1 win over the Ducks on Saturday.
He was especially sharp in the third period when he made 14 saves, including a sparkling pad save against rookie Beckett Sennecke from the slot on a 6-on-5 advantage. It was Allen's first win in December (1-3-0; three starts). It was also the Devils' first home win in five games. Allen continues to deliver better numbers (2.60 GAA, .907 save percentage) than Jacob Markstrom (3.66 GAA, .875 save percentage), and the two men are splitting starts.

Kuemper is expected to start at home against Calgary on Saturday, per Eric Francis of Sportsnet.
Kuemper has allowed two or fewer goals in each of his past four starts, going 2-2-0 over that span. He's 10-6-5 with a 2.23 GAA and a .914 save percentage in 21 outings with the Kings this season. The Flames rank 32nd in goals per game with 2.50.

Bjorklund was reassigned to AHL Hershey on Saturday, per Sammi Silber of The Hockey News.
Bjorklund hasn't made his NHL debut yet after being the backup goalie behind Logan Thompson in Thursday's 3-2 shootout loss to Carolina. The 23-year-old Bjorklund has a 3.01 GAA and an .895 save percentage in nine outings with Hershey this season. Charlie Lindgren (upper body) was activated off injured reserve in a corresponding move.

Lindgren (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Saturday, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.
The Capitals returned Garin Bjorklund to the minors in a corresponding move. After missing the last three games, Lindgren will dress as Logan Thompson's backup in Saturday's road matchup against Winnipeg.
