  • Devils' Jake Allen: Defending home crease Tuesday

Allen will start Tuesday's home game against the Mammoth, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Allen drew the Opening Night start at home against the Flyers on Thursday and allowed two goals on 25 shots during the 3-2 overtime victory. He'll start for the second time in the Devils' first three games of the year Tuesday.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Nabs OT win over Philly

Allen made 23 saves Thursday in a 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers.

Allen had no chance on the first goal. The Flyers had the extra attacker out on a delayed penalty and put massive Rasmus Ristolainen on the top edge of his crease. Allen didn't even see the puck. The Devils net will be a bit of mess early this season with backups Nico Daws and Remi Poirier both needing to clear waivers to be sent down to the AHL. That will suppress Allen's starts, but that might be a good thing at age 36. Last season, he compiled a 17-17-2 record with a 2.74 GAA and a strong .904 save percentage in 37 starts. Unfortunately, that will also diminish Allen's fantasy value overall.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Gets starting nod Thursday

Allen will be between the home pipes against the Flyers on Thursday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Allen will have the benefit of facing a Philadelphia squad that is on the second night of a back-to-back, though it will be motivated to bounce back from a 7-0 rout at the hands of the Penguins. For his part, Allen went 17-17-2 with a 2.74 GAA and one shutout in 37 regular-season games last year. If he can stay healthy, the veteran backstop should be capable of reaching the 20-win mark for the first time since 2017-18 when he was with St. Louis.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Beaten once in preseason win

Allen stopped 14 of 15 shots in Saturday's 4-1 preseason win over the Islanders.

Allen carried a shutout deep into the third period after New Jersey built a 4-0 advantage through 40 minutes, but the Islanders scored their lone goal via Simon Holmstrom with only 4:39 remaining. Allen played the entire contest, and ti seems the veteran will open the 2026-27 season as the No. 1 goaltender for the Devils, beginning with the season opener against the Flyers on Thursday, Oct. 1.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: In goal Saturday

Allen will be between the pipes for Saturday's road clash with the Islanders, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Allen looks set to be the Opening Night starter when the Devils square off with the Flyers on Oct. 1. In 37 regular-season appearances last year, the veteran backstop went 17-17-2 with a 2.74 GAA and one shutout. As long as Allen can hold on to the No. 1 job, he should be capable of reaching the 20-win mark for the first time since 2017-18.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Faces only three shots in preseason debut

Allen stopped all three shots he faced in Monday's 3-2 preseason win over the Rangers.

Allen played the first period of Monday's contest before giving way to Nico Daws for the rest of the game. Unless the Devils bring in another netminder at some point during the 2026-27 season, Allen should receive the bulk of the starts for a team that is expected to return to the postseason after missing out in 2025-26.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Poised to start Monday

Allen is expected to protect the home net in Monday's exhibition contest against the Rangers, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Allen is poised to get the nod after being the first goalie off at Monday's morning skate. He posted a 17-17-2 record with one shutout, a 2.74 GAA and a .903 save percentage in 37 appearances during the 2025-26 regular season. The veteran netminder could begin the 2026-27 campaign as the Devils' primary option between the pipes, but he could face competition for starts from Nico Daws and David Rittich.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Earns win vs. Detroit

Allen stopped 25 of 28 shots in Saturday's win over the Red Wings.

Allen earned the win here, but he continues to be an underwhelming fantasy performer, as this was his third straight game with a save percentage below the .900 mark. Allen will work as the Devils' No. 1 goaltender after Jacob Markstrom (undisclosed) was shut down for the final three games of the regular season. However, Nico Daws has been announced as the starter for Sunday's game against Ottawa, lining up Allen to start in the regular-season finale against the Bruins on Tuesday.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Slated to face Detroit

Allen is expected to start on the road against Detroit on Saturday, per Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site.

Allen will attempt to bounce back after allowing four goals on 29 shots in a 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh on Thursday. He's 16-17-2 with a 2.74 GAA and a .903 save percentage in 36 outings with New Jersey this season. Detroit ranks 20th in goals per game with 2.94 this season.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Iced by Penguins

Allen stopped 25 of 29 shots in Thursday's 5-2 loss to Pittsburgh, with the Penguins' final goal getting scored into an empty net.

The 35-year-old netminder saw his record on the season fall below .500 at 16-17-2 as he stumbles toward the finish line in 2025-26. Allen has given up at least three goals in five straight starts, going 3-1-1 over that stretch despite a shaky 3.35 GAA and .885 save percentage.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Drawing start Thursday

Allen will start Thursday's home game against the Penguins, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Allen has seen limited playing time in recent weeks, but he's been relatively effective when called upon, going 4-1-1 with a 2.97 GAA and .898 save percentage over his last six starts. He's made a pair of starts against Pittsburgh this year -- one at home and one on the road -- and has gone 1-1-0 with a 2.40 GAA and .921 save percentage during those outings.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Tagged with SO loss

Allen stopped 26 of 29 shots in Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Canadiens.

Allen allowed all three goals between the latter stages of the first period and the opening 10 minutes of the second frame, but he settled down afterward, and his play between the pipes was key to allowing the Devils to mount a comeback. Despite being tagged with the loss after the shootout, this was the fourth straight outing in which Allen avoided a loss in regulation. Over that stretch, the Devils' No. 2 goaltender owns a 3.19 GAA with an .891 save percentage. Allen has started the Devils' last two games, but he should return to the bench in the second leg of the back-to-back set against Montreal.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Set to face Canadiens

Allen will patrol the home crease against Montreal on Saturday, according to Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports.

Allen has won his last three outings while stopping 80 of the 90 shots he has faced. He has a 16-16-1 record this campaign with one shutout, a 2.70 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 34 appearances. Montreal is tied for third in the league with 3.51 goals per game this season.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Solid outing in win

Allen turned aside 29 of 32 shots on goal in Thursday's 7-3 win over the Capitals.

Allen played his part in Thursday's dominant win by allowing just one goal across the final 50 minutes of regulation. With the win, he is up to a 16-16-1 record, a 2.70 GAA and a .905 save percentage across 34 appearances this season. The 35-year-old netminder has won each of his last three starts and has four wins over his last five outings. He's been called upon more frequently since mid-March and is a solid spot start in most fantasy formats when he's called upon to guard New Jersey's crease.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: First off ice Thursday

Allen was the first netminder off the ice at morning skate, per Mike Morreale of NHL.com, indicating that he'll defend the home goal versus Washington on Thursday.

Allen has won his last two starts, despite allowing seven goals on 58 shots (.879 save percentage). He is 15-16-1 with a 2.69 GAA and a .905 save percentage over 33 appearances this season. The Capitals are generating 3.15 goals per game, ranking 14th in the league in 2025-26.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Picks up win Sunday

Allen stopped 28 of 31 shots in Sunday's 5-3 win over the Blackhawks.

Allen has allowed 12 goals over his last four outings, but his best performance in that span was his one loss. With the Devils all but officially out of the playoff race, Allen has started to get a bit more playing time to avoid overworking Jacob Markstrom. For the season, Allen is up to 15-16-1 with a 2.69 GAA and a .905 save percentage over 33 appearances, numbers nearly identical to what he did in 2024-25. He's a solid backup and could be worth a look in fantasy when he gets favorable matchups. The Devils' next game is just that as they visit the Rangers on Tuesday, though it will likely be Markstrom between the pipes for that one.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Starting against Chicago

Allen will start Sunday's home game against Chicago, Kristy Flannery of The Hockey News reports.

Allen has seen limited playing time in recent weeks, as Sunday's start will be just his fourth appearance since the beginning of March. Across his last three outings, he has gone 2-1-0 with a 3.03 GAA and .894 save percentage.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Concedes four in win

Allen stopped 23 of 27 shots in Tuesday's 6-4 win over the Stars.

Allen bounced back from the 2-1 loss to the Capitals last Friday, but his overall numbers haven't been very good. In three outings since the beginning of March, Allen has allowed nine goals on 85 shots faced while posting an .894 save percentage, a 3.03 GAA and a 2-1-0 record. He has been cutting into Jacob Markstrom's playing time, and a win over the Stars could give Allen more playing time down the stretch.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Set to start Tuesday

Allen will protect the road goal versus the Stars on Tuesday, Amanda Stein of the Devils' official site reports.

Allen will make his second start in a row after holding the Capitals to one goal on 27 shots in a 2-1 loss Friday. The 35-year-old has mostly served as backup to Jacob Markstrom this season -- this will be Allen's fourth outing in 13 games since the Olympic break. Even with the Stars missing some pieces, they're a tough challenge, making Allen a risky fantasy play on a busy schedule.

  • Devils' Jake Allen: Tough loss in DC

Allen turned aside 26 of 27 shots in Friday's 2-1 loss to the Capitals, with Washington's final goal getting scored into an empty net.

Ryan Leonard went top shelf on Allen from the high slot midway through the first period, and that looked like it might be the game's only offense until the teams traded goals inside the final two minutes of the third frame. Allen hasn't seen much action since the Olympic break, as the Devils have been leaning heavily on Jacob Markstrom. In his past three outings, Allen has gone 1-2-0 while giving up seven goals on 88 shots (.920 save percentage).
