Joel Nystrom D | CAR
Hurricanes' Joel Nystrom: Inks four-year extension
Nystrom agreed to terms on a four-year, $4.9 million contract extension with Carolina on Friday.
Nystrom was scheduled to be a restricted free agent at the end of the season, but instead, he will be sticking around for another four years. In 23 appearances this year, the Swedish blueliner has notched four assists, 30 shots and 14 blocks while averaging 16:02 of ice time.

Robby Fabbri C | STL
Blues' Robby Fabbri: Earns helper in season debut
Fabbri notched an assist, three hits and four PIM in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Predators.
Fabbri opened his second stint with the Blues with a helper. He signed a two-way deal Wednesday, and he'll be with the big club at least until some of the Blues' injured forwards return. Fabbri is likely to fill a bottom-six role.

Philip Broberg D | STL
Blues' Philip Broberg: Manages pair of assists
Broberg notched two assists and three shots on goal in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Predators.
Broberg ended a five-game slump with the pair of helpers. The 24-year-old defenseman continues to see top-four minutes, but he's struggled to put up offense in anything more than short bursts this year. He's at 12 points, 47 shots on net, 53 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating over 32 appearances, putting him behind the pace that yielded 29 points in 68 regular-season contests a year ago.

Hugh McGing LW | STL
Blues' Hugh McGing: Nets first NHL goal
McGing scored a goal in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Predators.
It was his first NHL goal. The 27-year-old has joined the Blues to help cover for numerous injury absences among the team's forwards. McGing is likely to stay in a fourth-line role until some of the injured forwards return, so he's not going to be a strong source of offense for fantasy.

Joel Hofer G | STL
Blues' Joel Hofer: Makes relief appearance
Hofer stopped six of seven shots in relief of Jordan Binnington in Thursday's 7-2 loss to the Predators.
Hofer played the third period and gave up a power-play goal to Michael Bunting. Hofer has allowed seven goals on 117 shots over his last five outings, two of which have come in relief. If he keeps this up, the 25-year-old could end up taking over the starting role for the Blues, though the team's overall struggles will still keep Hofer from being much of an option in fantasy.

Nicklaus Perbix D | NSH
Predators' Nick Perbix: Nabs helper
Perbix posted an assist and went plus-2 in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Blues.
Perbix recently missed three games with an upper-body injury, and this was his second contest back in the lineup. Following Friday's trade of Spencer Stastney to Edmonton, Perbix should be slated to see his ice time pick up if the Predators return to dressing six blueliners. Perbix has five points, 30 shots on net, 26 blocked shots, 15 hits and a minus-9 rating through 27 appearances.

Fedor Svechkov C | NSH
Predators' Fedor Svechkov: Picks up two helpers
Svechkov logged two assists and a plus-4 rating in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Blues.
Svechkov has found some steady production lately with a goal and five assists over his last nine outings. The 22-year-old was on the second line Thursday, but he's typically been in a bottom-six role for much of the season. He's at seven points, 36 shots on net, 24 hits and 11 blocked shots over 28 appearances, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect sustained success on offense.
-
Matthew Wood RW | NSH
Predators' Matthew Wood: Offers pair of helpers
Wood produced two assists and went plus-4 in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Blues.
Wood logged his first multi-point effort since his Nov. 10 hat trick versus the Rangers. The 20-year-old winger has moved around the lineup a bit, which has led to some inconsistency in his offense. He's at 14 points, 42 shots on net, 16 hits and an even plus-minus rating across 23 outings overall.

Nick Blankenburg D | NSH
Predators' Nick Blankenburg: Offers pair of helpers
Blankenburg notched two assists, including one on the power play, in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Blues.
Blankenburg has made himself indispensable in a third-pairing role this season. The defenseman has three goals and five helpers over his last nine outings, production that should have the attention of fantasy managers even in a role that could be prone to some dips in production. Overall, he's at 14 points, 32 shots on net, 17 blocked shots, 15 hits and a minus-5 rating through 20 appearances.

Roman Josi D | NSH
Predators' Roman Josi: Earns two assists
Josi logged a pair of assists, four shots on goal and a plus-3 rating in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Blues.
Josi earned his first multi-point effort of the season. He has five helpers and a plus-2 rating over his last six contests. The Swiss defenseman is up to 12 points, 47 shots on net, 26 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating across 18 appearances. Josi's play has improved during a hot stretch for the Predators, so fantasy managers should continue to be patient for him to round into form.
