2020 Ohio Derby odds, contenders, predictions: Legendary expert reveals surprising picks
Hank Goldberg nailed the Belmont Stakes and just locked in his 2020 Ohio Derby picks.

On Saturday, reigning Breeders' Cup Juvenile champion Storm the Court will look to regroup when he leaves the starting gate in the 2020 Ohio Derby. This three-year-old son of Court Vision has two wins and two thirds in seven career starts. He is coming off a sixth-place finish in one of the divisions of the Arkansas Derby on May 2, which extended his losing streak to three, as he hasn't won since taking the Juvenile at 46-1 odds on Nov. 1.
Despite the drought, Storm the Court is the 3-1 morning-line favorite in the latest 2020 Ohio Derby odds. Lebda, a son of Raison d'Etat, is right behind him at 7-2 in the 2020 Ohio Derby field. Post time for the Kentucky Derby prep race is 4:22 p.m. ET. With a large 14-horse field ready to enter the starting gate, you need to see the latest horse racing predictions from the legendary Hammerin' Hank Goldberg before making any 2020 Ohio Derby picks.
The former horse racing analyst for ESPN and NBC, Goldberg became a legendary handicapper by going straight to the source. In 2004, he had dinner before the Belmont Stakes with trainer Nick Zito at a pizzeria in Queens. The dinner led Goldberg to play Zito's 36-1 monster long shot Birdstone to win and on top of his exacta, trifecta and superfecta bets. When Birdstone shocked the world, Hammer won $24,000.
And in the San Felipe Stakes in March, Goldberg gave out a $20 exacta that paid $180. Last weekend at the Belmont Stakes, Goldberg was all over Tiz the Law, who rallied late for a convincing victory in the year's first Triple Crown race. Anybody who has followed Hammer's horse racing picks has seen huge returns.
Now, Goldberg has studied the 2020 Ohio Derby contenders and released his picks, predictions and exotic bets. You can see them all over at SportsLine.
Top 2020 Ohio Derby predictions
Goldberg is high on Rowdy Yates, even though he's not one of the top two favorites. This three-year-old son of Morning Line has five wins and one second in nine career starts. He is coming off a fourth-place finish in Saudi Arabia on Feb. 29.
Rowdy Yates enters the race off the first significant layoff of his career. "The five-month layoff may have been good for this Steve Asmussen trainee," Goldberg told SportsLine.
Goldberg is also completely fading Code Runner, who's going off at 6-1. In fact, Goldberg says Code Runner doesn't even hit the board. This three-year-old son of Honor Code has three wins, two seconds and one third in 10 career starts. He is coming off a win at Lone Star Park on June 8. Two starts ago, he finished eighth in a division of the Arkansas Derby.
Code Runner enters Saturday's race off 19 days' rest, which is a relatively quick turnaround for modern horses. In addition, he has yet to prove himself as a stakes-caliber horse.
How to make 2020 Ohio Derby picks
However, Goldberg is high on a double-digit long shot who "may be getting good at the right time." Goldberg is including this horse in his exactas, and so should you. He's sharing which horse to back only at SportsLine.
Who wins the Ohio Derby 2020? Which double-digit long shot hits the board? And how has the Hammer formulated his bets? Check out the latest 2020 Ohio Derby odds below, then visit SportsLine to see Goldberg's picks, and find out.
