The 141st Kentucky Derby field is set and Wednesday the opening positions for the race were announced with race favorite American Pharoah will start in post position 18, going off at 5-2 odds. The last horse to win the Derby from the 18 position was Gato Del Sol in 1982 by 2 1/2 furlongs. American Pharoah comes into race hot after winning the Arkansas Derby, Rebel and FrontRunner in Santa Anita Park.

Second-best odds go to Dortmund, who will post eighth and posts 3-1 odds. Post position eight has done well in recent years with Mine That Bird (2009) and Barbaro (2006) winning the race from the slot.

Florida Derby winner Materiality starts in the third post, going off at 12-1 odds.
