Red Sox pitcher Clay Buchholz picked up a win in his return Wednesday despite giving up four earned runs on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings while striking out two in his team's 5-4 victory over the Mariners.

Buchholz (3-4) struggled through the first two months of the season before hitting the disabled list for a month with a knee injury. He was victimized by the home run Wednesday, giving up three long balls with two coming in the second inning. Buchholz owns a 6.75 ERA and 41:24 K:BB ratio in 57 1/3 innings heading into Tuesday's scheduled start against the Cubs.
