Diamondbacks catcher Chris Iannetta hit in mouth with pitch from Pirates' reliever
He appeared to lose a tooth and had blood coming from his mouth and nose
Diamondbacks catcher Chris Iannetta hit a home run in the third inning to tie the Pirates, 1-1. The D-Backs would go on to score 11 runs in the third and fourth innings combined. So things were going very well for the backstop until he faced Johnny Barbato later in the game. A 93 mph fastball would end up in Iannetta's face.
More specifically, right in the mouth:

For those interested, here's the video (it's not overly graphic, but if blood isn't your thing, you might wanna pass):
Replays showed what appeared to be a tooth flying from Iannetta's mouth -- honestly, I'll be surprised if he only lost one -- and he was bleeding from both the mouth and nose. He obviously left the game and it seems likely a disabled list stint is forthcoming. Keep in mind he's a catcher, so he's got to be able to comfortably wear the catcher's mask and be OK to take a 100-plus m.p.h. foul tip off said mask in the process.
The Diamondbacks would win the game, 11-4, but it was certainly a bittersweet result, given what happened to Iannetta.
