Twins pitcher Glen Perkins threw off a mound Tuesday for the first time since having knee surgery on Oct. 1, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports, adding that he plans to throw again Friday.

Perkins said that the injured right knee is "rounding into shape." He plans to throw two more bullpen sessions next week heading into the start of spring training. Perkins is coming off his first full season as the Twins closer in which he posted a 2.30 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 77:15 K:BB ratio in 62 2/3 innings along with 36 saves.
