Hyun-Jin Ryu not expected to need rehab assignment

Dodgers pitcher Hyun-Jin Ryu is not expected to go on a rehab assignment before returning from the disabled list, MLB.com reports.

"He'll eventually get on a mound, but I haven't heard any talk about that," manager Don Mattingly said Wednesday. "He just started playing catch. He's got some time. We're not going to push him."

Ryu played catch for the second straight day Wednesday. He is working his way back from a strained right gluteus.
