Red Sox starting pitcher Jake Peavy pitched through some control issues Wednesday and ended up settling for a no-decision in a 4-2 win over the Rangers.

Peavy opened the game with six scoreless innings, but ran into some trouble in the seventh. He allowed a leadoff home run to open the frame and then issued a walk that ended his day, one of four allowed.

Peavy was ultimately charged with just one run in 6 2/3 innings, on three hits and four walks. He was helped by eight strikeouts, throwing 67 of 109 pitches for strikes, but had to settle for the loss as the offense didn't wake up until late.

Peavy has opened the season with a pair of quality starts, posting a 2.13 ERA, but has yet to receive a win for his trouble. His next chance to pick up his first win will come Tuesday against the White Sox.
