Athletics pitcher Jason Hammel said after Wednesday's game that his thumb felt fine after being looked at by a trainer during the game, MLB.com reports.
Hammel said that his thumb just cramped up and that it was the first time it had ever happened to him. He went on to finish the fifth inning after being visited by the trainer but didn't come out for the sixth with 99 pitches already in the bank. The minor issue shouldn't affect his availability moving forward.
