Josh Collmenter reads mean tweets about himself to his bobblehead
And one of them happens to be from a person who works for this blog.

Right-hander Josh Collmenter of the Arizona Diamondbacks is the kind of pitcher every fan should root for, not only because he seems like an affable person, but also because he throws about 85 mph and manages to succeed in Major League Baseball. He also throws with a unique over-the-top motion, and he came into the league wearing a beard before it became widely fashionable. So many things are going for him, which is why the D-backs are having a bobblehead day for him Saturday. Collmenter is good and popular.
Regardless, as a public figure, he's subject to criticism and otherwise snarky comments from people on Twitter, as this video with Collmenter talking to his bobblehead doll shows:
A great advertisement for Collmenter, for his bobblehead and for the D-backs. A great advertisement against talking on the internet. He kind of does throw like a left-hander, in the sense that he relies on deception more than stuff.
And hey, one of those tweets was recognizable!

I don't remember saying that, but it sounds like something I'd say. Glad it wasn't actually mean, like the saps telling Collmenter was no good. He is good. He's tied for the league lead in shutouts. He's never posted an ERA higher than 3.69, in a tough home park in which to pitch. Give him and his beard some respect. (Besides, you never know what he might pull out of there someday.)
