LOOK: John Legend and Chrissy Teigen's daughter throws out first pitch for Mariners
The 1-year-old threw the pitch to Mariners second-baseman Robinson Cano
John Legend and Chrissy Teigen have emerged as one of pop culture's royal couples, and their 1-year-old daughter Luna isn't doing anything to undermine the image. Luna threw out the first pitch for the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday wearing a custom Mariners jersey. They moved her up a bit closer to the plate, but Luna isn't going to be appearing on any terrible first pitch highlight reels (although the dichotomy between between her and John Wall would be something to behold.
Luna and Chrissy got matching mother-daughter jerseys, which Teigen didn't elect to wear onto the field. Luna got the ever-apt No. 1 on her jersey, which she sported when she showcased her arm. Legend and Teigen were alongside Luna on the field offering her support, but hand-holding proved to be an unnecessary step.
Legend expressed his excitement about the appearance, sharing a photo of him holding Luna in one arm and the ball in the other. The Instagram post was captioned 'Proud papa #LunasFirstTour.' The hashtag is in reference to the "Lightness and Dark" tour that the family is currently enjoying together, which has allowed them to spend time together between shows.
The Mariners also allowed Legend, Teigen and Luna to have the run of the ballpark, allowing them access to the team's dugout. Luna hit the baseball spirit a bit prematurely, opting for Dubble Bubble instead of photo-ops.
Luna didn't go into the experience cold. Teigen recently tweeted a picture of Luna "practicing" for her big moment. The experience was one that impacted Teigen as much as anyone. Shortly after the pitch, she took to Twitter, saying that she had "never been so proud." She also posted a photo to Instagram with the caption "Home" of her family standing inside the fence.
Teigen considers herself a Seattle native, and so the moment was particularly special for her. The model, and outspoken women's activist, has been married to the "Green Light" singer since 2013. They had Luna in April of 2016, and she seems to handle the spotlight just fine.
