On Wednesday, Yankees third baseman/DH Alex Rodriguez made his Grapefruit League debut after serving his year-long suspension in 2014. A-Rod went 1-for-2 with a single and a walk in his first game action in nearly 18 months.

Rodriguez has been getting an overwhelming amount of media coverage this spring -- that's putting it lightly, and yes, we're guilty of it too -- so it's no surprise his spring debut was front page news in New York. The folks at the New York Post flat out declined to hide their contempt for A-Rod on Thursday:

I have to say, that's really disappointing. Where's the creativity? I love a good headline pun as much as anyone, yet there's no effort there. No creativity, no nothing. That's really disappointing.

In case you're wondering, rival tabloid the New York Daily News took a more nuanced approach to dissing A-Rod:

It's spring training for the tabloids too, I guess.
