Needless to say, newspaper copy editors and graphic artists likely had their plans of action place well in advance of Game 7 of the World Series between the Cubs and Indians. As it turned out, the Cubs prevailed in a taut and hotly contested affair and in doing so won the championship for the first time since 1908.

Thus the newspapers of this fair land were presented with an opportunity to distinguish themselves. To give you an idea of things on that front, imgur user alphabetikalmarmoset put together a gallery of some front pages dedicated to the Cubs' triumph and the Indians' defeat.

Check it out ...

Best Cubs headline? I'll say the Journal-Star.

Best Indians headline? The Columbus Dispatch.

Best Cubs photo? Give it to the Denver Post (most because of Dexter Fowler's parallel-to-the-ground dive into the dog-pile).

Best Tribe photo? The one on the front page of the Canton Repository is pretty darn evocative.

Best use of the "Cubs win" flag? Chicago Sun-Times, come on down.

Disagree with my choices? Of course not. What a question.
