Mets pitcher Dillon Gee closed out Wednesday's spring loss against the Marlins, giving up one hit in 1 1/3 scoreless innings while striking out one. He spoke about the transition from the rotation to the bullpen with NJ.com.
"It's different but I think it's something I can do," Gee said.
Gee was notified somewhere around the seventh inning that he would be used, shortening his usual preparation time before heading to the mound.
"It's miniscule to what I normally would do," Gee said. "Which might save my arm - I don't know."
Gee is the odd man out of the Mets rotation this spring, leaving him in line to pitch out of the bullpen at the beginning of the season.
