Orioles' first-rounder Kevin Gausman in mourning over Hostess news
With news breaking that Hostess was closing up shop, much attention was paid to the possible death of the Twinkie. Orioles minor-league pitcher Kevin Gausman, the team's first-round draft pick last June, is partial to powdered donuts, though. During every start, he eats four Hostess powdered donuts before each inning on the mound. He expressed his sadness on Twitter.

With news breaking that Hostess was closing up shop, much attention was paid to the possible death of the Twinkie. I'm partial to the cherry pies, but that's irrelevant here. We are here to discuss Orioles minor-league pitcher Kevin Gausman, the team's first-round draft pick in June. He also has a superstition during every start, which is that he eats four Hostess powdered donuts before each inning on the mound (via Baltimoresun.com).
Gausman took to Twitter to express his sadness ...
Ok I need to go out to every grocery store and get Powdered Hostess Donnetts pronto!!!! Can't believe they are going out of business #Sad

The 21-year-old LSU product had a 3.60 ERA with 13 strikeouts and only one walk in 15 innings last season in High-A and Low-A combined. I guess we can expect a downward trend now that he's without his beloved donuts, no?
