The Texas Rangers activated relief pitcher Tyler Tufts from the 15-day disabled list and assigned him to Triple-A on Wednesday.
Tufts was recalled by the Rangers on Aug. 31 and then immediately placed on the disabled list with a perforated bowel. The move gave the Rangers postseason roster flexibility to potentially add an otherwise-ineligible player to the postseason roster in place of Tufts.
Tufts was 2-1 with a 5.64 ERA, 1.45 WHIP and 15 strikeouts in 30.1 innings between Double-A and Triple-A this season. His last appearance of the season came on June 25.
