The Red Sox made DH David Ortiz's contract extension official on Sunday, the team announced. Both sides agreed on a one-year extension through 2015 with a club/vesting option for 2016 and a club option for 2017. The deal is expected to be worth a little more than $15 million, according to ESPN.

Ortiz had .308 batting average with 30 home runs and 103 RBI, leading his team to another championship.

"With this agreement, we have near certainty that David Ortiz will finish his career in a Red Sox uniform," team owner John Henry said in a statement.
