A-Rod reaches 3,000 >>> The 10 greatest hitters not in 3,000-hit club
Yankees designated hitter Alex Rodriguez entered Friday's game needing just one hit to join 28 others as the men in Major League Baseball's 3,000-hit club. It didn't take long.
Rodriguez joins former teammate Derek Jeter and former Yankee (who was a Devil Ray at the time) Wade Boggs as the only three members of the club to have homered for their 3,000th hit with the first-inning shot off Tigers starter Justin Verlander.

Runs: 9th
Hits: 29th
Total bases: 8th
Doubles: 39th
Home runs: 4th
RBI: 4th
Extra base hits: 6th
Times on base: 22nd
