Andy Pettitte's final simulated game went without incident and the 40-year-old lefty is scheduled to rejoin the Yankees rotation Tuesday against Toronto, LoHud.com reported Thursday. David Phelps will move to the bullpen to open a spot for Pettitte.

Pettitte was enjoying an excellent season before a line drive off his left ankle forced him to the disabled list June 27. In nine starts, Pettitte struck out 59 against 15 walks in 58.2 innings, recording a 3.22 ERA. His 130 ERA+ would be the fifth best mark of his illustrious career.

Phelps exits the rotation on a high note, as he earned the win over the Red Sox on Wednesday with a 5.2-inning, five-hit, one-run performance. Overall, Phelps owns a 3.42 ERA in 84.1 innings split between the rotation and the bullpen. His bullpen performance has been excellent -- 39 innings, 40 strikeouts, 12 walks and a 2.54 ERA.
