Adames (concussion) will begin a rehab assignment with High-A Wisconsin on Sunday and could be reinstated from the 7-day injured list as soon as Thursday, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Adames is slated to serve as Wisconsin's designated hitter Sunday in what will be his first game action since he sustained a concussion after being struck by a line drive off the bat of teammate Brian Anderson while he was spectating in the dugout in a May 26 game against the Giants. The 27-year-old has seemingly made strong progress in his recovery over the past week and a half, and heading out on a rehab assignment marks the final hurdle he'll need to clear before being activated. Assuming Adames experiences no setbacks coming out of Sunday's contest, he'll shift his rehab assignment to Triple-A Nashville, where he's expected to make starts at shortstop Tuesday and Wednesday.... Brewers' Willy Adames: Resumes baseball activity
Adames (concussion) resumed baseball activities Friday with High-A Wisconsin, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. Adames won't join the Brewers during their current series in Cincinnati. Instead, he will be re-evaluated after the weekend and could potentially return to the lineup for a series opener against Baltimore on Tuesday. The slugging shortstop has been on the 7-day injured list since Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Willy Adames: Does light workout Tuesday
Adames (concussion) went through a light workout Tuesday in Milwaukee, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. It was the first workout of any kind for Adames since he suffered a concussion when he got struck by a foul ball in the dugout last Friday against the Giants. "He's got to pass some tests," Brewers manager Craig Counsell told reporters Tuesday evening while declining to offer an exact timetable for the shortstop's return. Adames is first eligible to be activated from the 7-day concussion injured list this coming Saturday.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Willy Adames: Officially placed on concussion IL
Adames (head) was placed on the 7-day concussion injured list Saturday. Adames was leaning on the dugout railing Friday when he was struck in the head by a foul ball off the bat of teammate Brian Anderson. He suffered a concussion, but the good news is that Adames was alert and responsive throughout the evening, and he did not suffer any fractures. Andruw Monasterio was called up from Triple-A Nashville to provide depth to the infield while Adames recovers after the freak accident.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Willy Adames: Heading to concussion list
Adames (head) will be placed on the 7-day injured list with a concussion after leaving Friday's game against the Giants, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. A line drive off the bat of Brian Anderson in the second inning rocketed into the Brewers dugout and struck Adames in the head, and he was taken to a hospital to be evaluated. The positive news is that Adames has no fractures and he's been alert throughout, and while he will remain in the hospital overnight, he's expected to be released Saturday according to manager Craig Counsell. Adames will miss at least a week, but things could have been much worse given the circumstances.... See More ... See Less -
Brewers' Willy Adames: Leaves stadium for further testing
Adames (undisclosed) has left the stadium for more testing and evaluation after leaving Friday's game against the Giants in the second inning after being struck by a foul ball, Sophia Minnaert of Bally Sports Wisconsin reports. Adames was struck by a liner off the bat of Brian Anderson in a scary moment in the second inning. While the shortstop should be considered day-to-day at this stage, the severity of the injury and how long he might be out won't be determined until after the testing is complete.... See More ... Brewers' Willy Adames: Leaves after being hit by foul ball
Adames left Friday's game against the Brewers after being struck by a foul ball in the dugout, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. He walked in his only plate appearance before exiting. Adames was struck hard by a liner off the bat of Brian Anderson, and he was taken by trainers into the clubhouse. Brice Turang has taken over for the Brewers at shortstop. It appears that the ball struck Adames in the head, so the Brewers may need to place the infielder in the concussion protocol.... Adames went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Wednesday's 4-0 win over the Astros. Adames followed up a leadoff double by Christian Yelich with a two-run home run to open the scoring in the first inning. Last year, Adams finished with 31 home runs and 98 RBI while slashing .238/.298/.458. He's currently slashing just .204/.290/.381.... See More ... See Less -

Brewers' Willy Adames: Ends spring on high note
Adames went 2-for-3 with a double and a run in Tuesday's spring finale. Adames recorded just seven hits over his first 12 appearances of the spring -- which were sandwiched around a WBC stint with the Dominican Republic -- but he picked up three over the final two games he appeared in before the Brewers broke camp. Adames hit second or third in each spring game he appeared in, which all but locks him into a spot in the upper third of the order to begin the season.... See More ... See Less -

Brewers' Willy Adames: Sitting after elimination
Adames is not in Tuesday's lineup against the Pirates. Adames helped power the Brewers to victory with his 29th home run of the season and a ground-rule double that netted him his 89th RBI.
