Diaz signed a minor-league contract with the Giants on Tuesday. Diaz, 27, slashed .278/.374/.484 with 16 home runs over 94 games with Double-A Tulsa in the Dodgers organization last season. The shine has long since worn off since his top prospect days, but Diaz is still fairly young and the Giants felt he was worth a no-risk flier.... See More ... See Less

Dodgers' Yusniel Diaz: Signs minor-league deal
Diaz agreed Friday to a minor-league contract with the Dodgers that includes an invitation to spring training, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports. Diaz returns to the organization that originally signed him out of Cuba in 2015, before being one of the top names dealt to the Orioles for Manny Machado at the 2018 trade deadline. The outfielder has made just one plate appearance in his MLB career and has registered a .261/.340/.410 slash line over parts of six minor-league seasons. He's a long shot to make the big-league roster and is likely ticketed for Triple-A Oklahoma City.... See More ... See Less -

Orioles' Yusniel Diaz: Called up Monday
Diaz was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Monday. Diaz is hitting .191/.298/.281 with two home runs and one steal in his last 89 minor-league at-bats. Orioles' Yusniel Diaz: Activated at Triple-A
Triple-A Norfolk activated Diaz (hamstring) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday. Diaz is ready to make his first appearance for Norfolk since May 13 after he had been shut down with a strained right hamstring. He recently concluded a seven-game rehab assignment that included stops in the rookie-level Florida Complex League and High-A Aberdeen, with the 25-year-old outfielder going 5-for-19 with a home run, two doubles and four walks in those contests.... Orioles' Yusniel Diaz: Begins rehab assignment
Diaz (hamstring) began a rehab assignment with the Orioles' FCL affiliate Friday, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Diaz has been out over a month with a strained right hamstring. He recorded a strong .327/.424/.510 slash line in 14 games for Triple-A Norfolk prior to the injury, so the Orioles will be hoping he can get back to that level of performance upon his return to game action.... Orioles' Yusniel Diaz: Not close to return
Orioles general manager Mike Elias said Sunday that Diaz (hamstring) isn't in line to be called up to the Orioles until the second half of the season, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Diaz aggravated a right hamstring injury last week that also cost him time in April. The outfielder would presumably need to get back up to speed with Triple-A Norfolk before potentially ascending to the majors. There's still not a clear timeline for when he'll be back in action.... Orioles' Yusniel Diaz: Aggravates hamstring injury
Diaz was placed on the 7-day minor-league injured list with a right hamstring strain Saturday, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Sun reports. It's not yet clear how long his current IL stint will last.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Yusniel Diaz: Back from injured list
Diaz (hamstring) was activated from the 7-day injured list and is starting Tuesday for Triple-A Norfolk, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Diaz has been sidelined the past few weeks by a hamstring injury but is returning to action Tuesday for the Tides. The 25-year-old was off to a strong start with Norfolk prior to the injury, as he was 7-for-19 with two homers, two doubles, eight RBI and six runs through six games.... See More ... See Less -

Diaz is off to a hot start for Norfolk, going 7-for-18 with two homers through five games, but he was forced to exit Tuesday's contest after only one at-bat. Orioles' Yusniel Diaz: Shut down with shoulder strain
Diaz (shoulder) has been shut down for the remainder of the Arizona Fall League season, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Diaz sustained a shoulder injury last week and won't play again in the Arizona Fall League as a precautionary measure. However, the 25-year-old's shutdown should allow him to have a relatively normal offseason ahead of spring training in 2022.... See More ... See Less -
Orioles' Yusniel Diaz: Dealing with shoulder issue
Diaz is dealing with a sore left shoulder and could have his Arizona Fall League season shut down, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. While initial reports don't make the injury sound all that serious, and he's officially considered day-to-day, the Orioles have little reason to risk any further setbacks. Diaz hit a very poor .157/.225/.251 in 54 games for Triple-A Norfolk this season while missing time with a quadriceps strain and turf toe. He hit .222/.382/.444 with one home run and 10 strikeouts in 27 at-bats in the AFL.... See More ... See Less -

Diaz was transferred to Double-A Bowie on Tuesday to begin an informal rehab assignment after spending time on the 7-day injured list with turf toe, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports. Diaz has been out since the earlier portion of July with the toe issue, but he'll now head to Double-A to get a few games under his belt with Bowie. It doesn't sound like the club expects him to spend too much time at the lower level, so a promotion back to Triple-A Norfolk within the next few days seems possible.... See More ... See Less
