  • Braves' Brandyn Sittinger: Signs with Atlanta

Sittinger signed a minor-league contract with Atlanta on Sunday.

Sittinger made 36 relief appearances in the minors during the 2021 campaign and posted a 4.12 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in 39.1 innings. He also made his major-league debut by making five appearances with the Diamondbacks. Chances are, Sittinger will be up and down throughout 2022 while serving as organizational depth.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandyn Sittinger: Cast off 40-man roster

Sittinger was outrighted to Triple-A Reno on Thursday.

Sittinger was sent to the minors in mid-September, but he'll now lose his spot on the 40-man roster. The 27-year-old made five major-league appearances this year and posted a 7.71 ERA and 1.50 WHIP in 4.2 innings.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandyn Sittinger: Takes loss in short outing

Sittinger (0-1) was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Astros after allowing three runs on three hits -- including two home runs -- and a walk across two-thirds of an inning.

Sittinger had given up just one run over his first four appearances of the season, but the wheels came off in this one and was tagged with his first loss of the campaign. The fact that he has already allowed three homers in just 4.2 innings in relief is a bit concerning as well.

Sittinger was optioned to Triple-A Reno following Sunday's game against Houston.

Sittinger didn't fare well in Sunday's outing, surrendering three runs on three hits and a walk in 0.2 frames. He'll head down to the minors to make room for Humberto Mejia, who will start Monday's series opener against Atlanta.

  • Diamondbacks' Brandyn Sittinger: Makes MLB debut

Sittinger allowed one walk over a scoreless relief inning in Wednesday's 8-5 loss to Texas.

Sittinger made his MLB debut after his contract was selected from Triple-A Reno on Tuesday. He entered a clean seventh inning with Arizona trailing 5-3. The 27-year-old right-hander had a combined 4.03 ERA with five saves over 33 games at Double-A Amarillo and Reno. In theory, he's being evaluated for a spot in next year's bullpen.
