Suwinski isn't in the Pirates' lineup Saturday against the Cardinals, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports. The lefty-hitting Suwinski will take a seat against the lefty-throwing Jordan Montgomery. Connor Joe, Bryan Reynolds and Mark Mathias will make up Pittsburgh's outfield from left to right Saturday.... See More ... See Less

Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Sleeper hitters for Week 11 (June 5-11)
After an ice cold first three weeks of May, Jack Suwinski may be back on the right side of streaky again with two two-homer games in the past week. Week 11 makes for a good time to test the theory with the Pirates having the fourth-best hitter matchups.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Drills two home runs
Suwinski went 2-for-4 with a pair of solo home runs in Monday's 14-4 loss to the Giants. Though the Bucs were on the wrong end of a blowout loss, Suwinski did his part to make the final score more respectable. He went deep in both of his final two at-bats of the day, splashing down in McCovey Cove on both occasions to become the second player after Barry Bonds to achieve the feat twice in the same game since Oracle Park opened 24 seasons ago. He's up to 11 long balls this season after a 14-game dry spell that lasted most of the month.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Idle versus lefty
Suwinski is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners. Connor Joe will join Ji Hwan Bae and Andrew McCutchen in the outfield while the lefty-hitting Suwinski heads to the bench with southpaw Marco Gonzales on the bump for Seattle. Suwinski had started in each of the Bucs' last eight games, going 8-for-31 with four extra-base hits (two home runs, two doubles), six RBI and four runs.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Snaps power drought
Suwinski went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBI in Friday's 11-6 win over the Mariners. Suwinski hit just .174 during a 14-game homer drought, but he broke out in a big way Friday. He went deep in the fifth and seventh innings for his first homers since May 6. The outfielder owns a .233/.350/.489 slash line with nine long balls, 26 RBI, 16 runs scored and five stolen bases through 42 contests overall.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Power lacking
Suwinski went 0-for-4 with an RBI on Wednesday. Suwinski came to the plate with the bases loaded in the second inning, but he ultimately grounded out to push only one run across the plate. He's failed to homer in any of his last 14 games -- since May 7 -- and has only eight hits across 46 at-bats in that span. Suwinski still has a .341 wOBA and 114 wRC+ for the campaign, but his production has slipped significantly over the last few weeks.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Idle versus lefty
Suwinski is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers. The lefty-hitting Suwinski will get a day off in the series finale while the Tigers bring ace southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez to the mound. Pittsburgh will roll out an outfield of Bryan Reynolds, Ji Hwan Bae and Connor Joe from left to right Wednesday.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Sleeper hitters for Week 7 (May 8-14)
Just as soon as Jack Suwinski began to attract attention in Fantasy Baseball circles, his bat went into hiding. But his Statcast page is still lit up like a Christmas tree, and he should bounce back with the Pirates boasting the best hitter matchups this week, including just one game against a lefty.... Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Sitting against lefty
Suwinski is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Rays, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports. Suwinksi boasts a .958 OPS with six home runs, 18 RBI, five stolen bases and 10 runs scored through 23 games this season with the Pirates, but he'll grab some pine Wednesday with left-hander Shane McClanahan on the mound for Tampa Bay. Connor Joe, Bryan Reynolds and Miguel Andujar are starting across the outfield.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Flashes power, speed in twin bill
Suwinski went 3-for-6 with a home run, a double, a walk, a stolen base, two total runs and five total RBI across both games of a doubleheader Saturday against the Nationals. Suwinski didn't start in the matinee, but he still made an impact in the win. He ran for Miguel Andujar in the eighth inning and came around to score, then drew a walk before stealing a base in the following frame. Suwinski then enjoyed a big Game 2, driving in a run with a double before swatting a 444-foot grand slam in the sixth. The 24-year-old has entrenched himself into a near-everyday role in Pittsburgh's outfield, building a .297/.413/.656 slash line with six homers, 18 RBI and five thefts through 80 plate appearances.... Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Drives in one, swipes bag
Suwinski went 1-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base Thursday against the Dodgers. Suwinski did all of his damage in the first inning, tallying an RBI single before proceeding to swipe second base. He struck out in his other three plate appearances, increasing his strikeout rate on the campaign to 27.4 percent. He's overcome that to still post a strong .276/.397/.603 line across 73 plate appearances. With Thursday's performance, Suwinski extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's driven in three and stolen four bases.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Doubles, swipes two bags in win
Suwinski went 1-for-2 with a double, an RBI and two stolen bases in Sunday's victory over the Reds. Suwinski picked up his first two steals of the season before adding an insurance run in the eighth inning with an RBI double. The 24-year-old outfielder has been on a tear, going 11-for-32 with five home runs in his last 10 games. Suwinski has placed himself firmly on the fantasy radar with his intriguing power potential while showing an improved approach at the plate. He's now slashing .255/.383/.638 through 60 plate appearances this season.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Tallies deciding RBI
Suwinski went 1-for-4 with a double and an RBI on Saturday against the Reds. Suwinski made his lone hit of the day count when he ripped an RBI double into right field for what ultimately proved to be the game-winning run. While his strikeout rate remains inflated at 30.4 percent, he has at least one hit in eight of his last 10 games while delivering five home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored in that span. Overall, Suwinski has a .244/.357/.622 line across 56 plate appearances on the campaign.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Homers again in win
Suwinski went 1-for-2 with a solo home run and a walk in Thursday's 4-3 victory over the Reds. Suwinski went back-to-back with Connor Joe in the first inning, extending Pittsburgh's lead to 4-0. Suwinski has been on a tear recently, smacking four home runs in his last three games. The outfielder is now slashing .263/.375/.684 with five home runs, 10 RBI and six runs scored through 38 at-bats to start the season. While it'll be hard for him to maintain his current pace, Suwinski has earned a regular role in the Pirates' lineup against right-handed pitching and could be worth a look in deeper leagues.... Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Takes seat against southpaw
Suwinski is out of the starting lineup for Monday's game against the Rockies. Suwinski will take a seat against southpaw Rich Hill. Ji Hwan Bae will be the starting center field for Monday's contest while Mark Mathias hits seventh and is lined up at second base.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Tallies first homer
Suwinski went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday against the Astros. Suwinski took Cristian Javier yard in the second inning to tally his first home run of the season. It was only his second hit of the campaign across 24 plate appearances, and he's also striking out at a 29.2 percent clip. Suwinski will sit against most lefties, but he's also been in a rotational role in the outfield against right-handed pitching. That's unlikely to change until his performance improves.... Pirates' Jack Suwinski: On bench, but regains playing time
Suwinski is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros. Though the lefty-hitting Suwinski is sitting out with a southpaw (Framber Valdez) on the hill for Houston, the 24-year-old outfielder at least seems to be regaining a foothold in the everyday lineup versus right-handed pitching. Suwinski has started in three of the Bucs' last four matchups with righties, going 0-for-8 but drawing three walks. He could have more breathing room as a regular in the outfield in the wake of the long-term injury to Oneil Cruz (fibula), as utility man Ji Hwan Bae could settle into regular role in the middle infield rather than vying for starts in center field.... Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Not in starting lineup Tuesday
Suwinski is not in the Pirates' starting lineup Tuesday. Canaan Smith-Njigba is in left, Bryan Reynolds is in center and Andrew McCutchen will play right against the Red Sox and right-handed starter Nick Pivetta. Suwinski carries intriguing fantasy upside but seems to be stuck in a fourth-outfielder role in the early going.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Heads to bench
Suwinski will sit Saturday against the Reds. Suwinski started against righty Hunter Greene on Opening Day, going 0-for-4 with a pair of strikeouts. With lefty Nick Lodolo starting Saturday, Ji Hwan Bae will move from second base to center field, with Rodolfo Castro starting at the keystone.... See More ... See Less -
Pirates' Jack Suwinski: Still expected to make team
Suwinski is still expected to make the Pirates' Opening Day roster despite some struggles this spring, manager Derek Shelton implied to Jason Mackey of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette on Monday. Suwinski has had some defensive issues during Grapefruit League play and has struck out 16 times in 35 plate appearances. However, Shelton blamed the defensive problems in part on Suwinski being bothered by the sun and also indicated the outfielder's solid rookie-season showing would be weighed heavily in roster decisions. The plan has been for Suwinski to play center field and Bryan Reynolds shift over to left, although it's possible that changes given Suwinski's rough defensive performance this spring....
