Bastidas signed a minor-league contract with the Astros on Nov. 18.
Bastidas, 25, split the 2023 season between Double-A Somerset and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in the Yankees organization, slashing .249/.339/.413 with 15 homers and 12 steals. He'll likely begin 2024 as infield depth at Triple-A Sugar Land.

Bastidas was reassigned to minor-league spring training following Monday's game against the Pirates.
Bastidas had a brief opportunity to play amongst the big-league team after earning an invitation to major-league camp, but he'll now head to the minors to prepare for the upcoming campaign. He went 3-for-8 with one homer, seven RBI and three runs scored in seven spring appearances.
