Doval picked up the save during Saturday's 3-1 victory over the Brewers, tossing a scoreless ninth inning in which he allowed one hit. He recorded one strikeout and didn't issue a walk. After allowing a leadoff double to Brian Anderson, Doval retired three straight batters to record his 14th save. The right-hander is 11-for-11 in save opportunities during May, sporting a 0.71 ERA, 0.71 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB during that stretch (12.2 innings). Doval is now second in the MLB in saves behind Emmanuel Clase (17) and remains an elite fantasy option given his stellar strikeout numbers.... See More ... See Less

Giants' Camilo Doval: Shuts down Twins for save No. 13
Doval struck out the side and hit a batter while earning the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Twins. Doval made easy work in the ninth and has now converted all 10 of his save chances in May. He's struck out at least two batters in seven of his last 10 appearances and sports an 0.77 ERA, 0.69 WHIP and an absurd 19:4 K:BB over 11.2 innings this month.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Camilo Doval: Earns 12th save
Doval allowed an unearned run on two hits and struck out one in one inning to earn a save in Sunday's 7-5 win over the Marlins. Doval wasn't particularly sharp, but he had a three-run cushion when he entered the contest. He's allowed multiple baserunners in two of his last four outings, but he's still converted nine straight save attempts in an otherwise solid May. The closer has 12 saves overall, and he's pitched to a 2.08 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 31:10 K:BB through 21.2 innings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Camilo Doval: Sweats out save
Doval picked up the save Wednesday against the Phillies. He didn't allow a run but did surrender a hit and a walk while striking out one in an inning. Doval only allowed one hit, but a walk and a HBP loaded the bases with two outs. He struck out Trea Turner with a slider to finish the game and collect his 11th save. The Giants' closer has been lights out in May, converting all eight save opportunities and striking out 13 across 8.2 innings.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Camilo Doval: Yields run but earns save
Doval allowed a run on one hit and struck out two without issuing a walk in one inning to earn the save in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Phillies. Doval gave up a two-out solo home run to Kyle Schwarber but bounced back to strike out J.T. Realmuto to end the contest. The homer was the first run Doval has allowed in eight outings in May. He's converted saves in seven of those appearances while adding a 12:3 K:BB. The Giants' closer has a 2.41 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, 27:9 K:BB and 10 saves in 11 chances over 18.2 innings this season.... Giants' Camilo Doval: Earns seventh save
Doval picked up the save in Saturday's 4-1 win over Milwaukee. He failed to record a strikeout over a perfect two-thirds of an inning. Doval picked up his fourth consecutive save, marking his fourth straight appearance without allowing a hit after blowing a save on April 30. After tallying 27 saves last season, Doval is providing plenty of fantasy value through 15 appearances, as he's tied for seventh in MLB with seven saves to go along with a 11.7 K/9.... See More ... Giants' Camilo Doval: Notches sixth save of season
Doval picked up the save in Friday's 6-4 victory over the Brewers. He allowed one walk while striking out two over one scoreless inning. Doval has now tossed three straight scoreless outings since blowing his first save of the year against the Padres. The right-hander has decent numbers, sporting a 2.57 ERA and 1.21 WHIP on the year. However, he does have a blown save and two losses.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Camilo Doval: Earns another save
Doval picked up the save Wednesday against the Astros. He allowed a walk while logging a strikeout over one scoreless inning. Doval has earned saves in back-to-back games against the Astros, improving to 5-for-6 in save opportunities this season. The 25-year-old closer has been solid of late, allowing just one run in his last six appearances (five innings). Doval's ERA is down to 2.77 with a 1.23 WHIP and 17:7 K:BB through his first 13 innings this season.... See More ... See Less -

Giants' Camilo Doval: Takes first blown save
Doval was charged with a blown save Sunday versus the Padres, allowing a run on two hits while striking out one over two-thirds of an inning. Doval allowed a runner inherited from Tyler Rogers to score in the eighth inning, and the Giants were unable to bounce back. A two-run double from Matt Carpenter also put a run on Doval's line. It's the first blown save of the season for Doval, who has also gone 1-2 with three saves through 11 appearances. He has a 3.27 ERA, but his 1.36 WHIP and 15:6 K:BB through 11 innings are at least somewhat concerning marks.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Camilo Doval: Induces double play to earn save
Doval picked up a save against the Cardinals on Wednesday, walking one batter and keeping St. Louis off the scoreboard over two-thirds of an inning. It didn't look like Doval would be needed with San Francisco up 7-2 entering the ninth, but Sean Hjelle gave up two walks and a double to yield a run and allow the tying run to get to the on-deck circle with just one out. Doval was summoned from the bullpen and walked Lars Nootbaar to begin his outing, but he escaped the jam by getting Paul Goldschmidt to bounce into a game-ending double play. Doval's performance earned him his third save of the campaign, two of which have come over his past three appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Camilo Doval: Converts quick save

It was his first save chance since his season debut April 1. Doval lowered his ERA to 3.00 with a 13:5 K:BB across nine innings this season.... See More ... See Less -
Giants' Camilo Doval: Takes loss against KC
Doval (0-1) took the loss Saturday against the Royals while allowing a run on a hit with one strikeout over an inning of work. The run scored on a wild pitch in the top of the ninth inning, and it gives Doval his first loss of the season. The right-hander has struggled over his first three appearances, allowing a pair of runs in three innings. Doval should still continue to see the majority of save chances despite his slow start to the 2023 season, and it's important to note that Saturday's shaky outing was in a non-save situation.... Giants' Camilo Doval: Notches first save of season
Doval collected his first save of the season in Saturday's 7-5 win over the Yankees, giving up one run on two hits and two walks in the ninth inning while striking out one. It wasn't pretty, but after allowing a run with one out, Doval induced a double play from Giancarlo Stanton to escape his jam. The right-hander recorded 27 saves in 2022 while emerging as an elite high-leverage arm for the Giants and he likely has some leash in the closer role, but if Doval continues to struggle, manager Gabe Kapler has other options he can turn to in the ninth.... Giants' Camilo Doval: Pitching solid this spring
Doval has allowed one run over three appearances so far in his Cactus League appearances. Doval has allowed four hits without issuing a walk, and has picked up four strikeouts. The right-hander is expected to serve as the closer for the Giants in 2023, and while there have been some hiccups in his short professional career, his stuff suggests he has the potential to be one of the best relievers in baseball.... Giants' Camilo Doval: Records final out for save
Doval retired the only batter he faced to earn the save in Thursday's 6-4 win over the Rockies. Jharel Cotton and John Brebbia both struggled in the ninth inning, but Doval was able to escape with a save when he got Ezequiel Tovar to ground out. Considering Doval had allowed a run in each of his last two outings, this was a positive showing. He's up to 27 saves in 30 attempts while maintaining a 2.57 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 80:30 K:BB through 66.2 innings this year.... See More ... See Less -
