The Nationals promoted Stuart from Double-A Harrisburg to Triple-A Rochester on Tuesday.
Stuart will join the Triple-A rotation as a replacement for Brad Lord (hand), who was placed on the 7-day injured list in a corresponding move. The 24-year-old right-hander earned the bump to Rochester based on merit, as he had logged a 2.08 ERA and 1.08 WHIP across 21.2 innings over his four starts with Harrisburg since joining the Washington organization after being acquired from the Mets at the trade deadline.

Nationals' Tyler Stuart: Shipped to Washington
Rotowire
The Nationals acquired Stuart from the Mets on Sunday in exchange for outfielder Jesse Winker.
Stuart is in his first full season at the Double-A level and has a 3.96 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 90:20 K:BB across 84 innings. The 6-foot-9 righty could see Triple-A action by the end of the campaign and may not be far off from his MLB debut, and he should have a clearer path to pitching meaningful innings for Washington than he did with New York.
