Rodriguez became a minor-league free agent earlier this offseason but is now back with Detroit on another minors pact. He posted a .738 OPS with 16 home runs over 74 games with Double-A Erie in 2023.

Rodriguez agreed to a minor-league contract with the Tigers on Friday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Rodriguez signed with the Cardinals as a teenager in 2016 and spent the past six years in their minor-league system. He'll now join Detroit after he posted a .252/.387/.436 slash line at the Double-A level last season.

Rodriguez (undisclosed) began a rehab assignment Saturday with the Cardinals' rookie-level Florida Complex League affiliate, going 0-for-2 with a walk while catching three innings.
Rodriguez has been on the shelf at Double-A Springfield since May 11 with the unspecified injury. He'll likely need a few tune-up games in the FCL before Springfield activates him from the 7-day injured list.

Rodriguez was reassigned to minor-league spring training Tuesday, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.
The 22-year-old will likely rejoin Double-A Springfield, where he played 14 games to finish the 2019 season, hitting .222/.255/.311 with seven RBI across 47 plate appearances. Rodriguez had a great opportunity to learn from the major-league coaching staff to begin spring and will look to continue to climb the minor-league ladder this early in the year.
