Giants' Logan Webb: Let down by bullpen in no-decision

Webb allowed one run on seven hits and two walks while striking out six batters over seven innings in a no-decision against Philadelphia in the first game of a doubleheader Thursday.
He was excellent in his seven frames, giving up just one run on a first-inning Kyle Schwarber homer. Webb racked up 13 whiffs and finished with his fifth quality start through seven outings. However, the right-hander wasn't able to notch the victory, as closer Ryan Walker gave up two runs in the ninth frame to blow a save opportunity. Webb's numbers (4.30 ERA, 1.36 WHIP, 2.5 K/BB) haven't been as good this season as in years past, but he's still providing San Francisco with plenty of value by going deep into games, tallying at least six frames in each of his past six appearances. He's slated to make his next start at home versus San Diego.

Giants' Logan Webb: Phillies-Giants postponed

Webb and the Giants will not play against the Phillies on Wednesday after the game was postponed due to inclement weather, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Wednesday's game will move to Thursday as part of a split doubleheader, but it's not yet known which game Webb will take the mound for. After surrendering six earned runs Opening Day, the 29-year-old right-hander has posted four quality starts over his last five outings, and over that span he has a 3.94 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 25:12 K:BB across 32 innings.

Webb (2-3) took the loss Thursday against the Dodgers, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks in seven innings. He struck out five.
The All-Star right-hander hardly deserved the loss Thursday, turning in his fourth quality start in his past five outings. Despite the consistent length he's provided, Webb has given up fewer than three runs on just one occasion so far this year. He'll be aiming for better run prevention in his next scheduled appearance in Philadelphia, where Webb will carry a shaky 4.86 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 32:13 K:BB through 37 frames in 2026.

Nationals' Daylen Lile: First home run of 2026

Lile went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during the Nationals' 10-5 loss to the Giants on Friday.
It took until the 20th game of the regular season for Lile to go long, with his two-run home run off Logan Webb in the fourth inning reducing the Nationals' deficit to 8-3. Despite the lack of power, Lile has had success getting on base, reaching base safely in seven of his last eight outings. Over that eight-game span, he has gone 10-for-34 (.294) with one steal, three RBI and four runs scored.
Webb (2-2) earned the win against the Nationals on Friday, allowing four runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out six across six innings.
Webb generated just five whiffs while tossing 64 strikes on 99 pitches, but he still logged six punchouts for the third time in five starts this season. He went out for the sixth inning looking to pick up his second quality start of 2026, but he gave up an RBI single to Jose Tena in what was still a relatively easy victory. Webb's 58.9 percent groundball rate is one of the best in the majors, and his 27 strikeouts (across 30 innings) are tied for sixth in the National League, though his 5.40 ERA is also tied for fourth worst in the NL among qualified starters. Webb's next start is slated for next week at home against the Dodgers.
Webb (1-2) took the loss against the Orioles on Saturday, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with six strikeouts over six innings.
Webb yielded runs in the second, third and fourth innings while generating 11 swinging strikes on 98 pitches. It's been an up-and-down opening to the campaign for the 29-year-old, who has two quality starts through four outings but owns a 5.25 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 21:9 K:BB overall across 24 innings. He'll try to rebound in a road matchup against the Nationals next weekend.

Giants' Logan Webb: Strong across seven innings Sunday

Webb didn't factor into the decision Sunday against the Mets, allowing one run on seven hits and one walk with three strikeouts across seven innings.
Webb's only blemish was an RBI single allowed to Mark Vientos in the second inning. Webb scattered the seven hits but had a 2-1 lead when he left the game following the seventh inning. Keaton Winn and Erik Miller combined to allow four runs on five hits in the eighth inning to blow Webb's potential win. Webb will take his fourth turn through the rotation Saturday on the road against the Orioles. He has a 5.00 ERA and 15:6 K:BB across 18 innings.
Webb (1-1) earned the win over San Diego on Tuesday, tossing six innings during which he allowed three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out five batters.
After Webb gave up seven runs (six earned) over five innings in an Opening Day loss to the Yankees, Tuesday's quality start was much more in line with what Giants fans (and fantasy managers) have come to expect from the team's ace. Still, it was far from a flawless outing, as the right-hander issued four free passes -- as many as he yielded in any game last season. Webb handed out just one walk in his ugly first start, so his mild wildness against the Padres probably isn't cause for concern, especially given the overall outcome. He's tentatively slated to next take the mound at home against the Mets.
Webb (0-1) took the loss versus the Yankees on Wednesday, allowing seven runs (six earned) on nine hits and a walk while striking out seven over five innings.
Webb was roughed up for five runs in the second inning and gave up two more in the fifth before exiting the game. He threw 58 of 86 pitches for strikes, which was right in line with his workload in his last Cactus League start Thursday. The right-hander is a true workhorse for the Giants, having topped 200 innings in three straight years and 30 starts in each of the last four campaigns. He pitched to a 3.22 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 224:46 K:BB over 207 innings in 2025 and should continue to eat innings with strong ratios again this season. Webb is tentatively projected to make his second start of the year on the road at San Diego next week.
