  Feels like it has been a long time since the Red Sox have had a game like this. They belt Baltimore, 12-3 in the opener of a three-game series at Fenway. Refsnyder, O'Neill, Rafaela and Raffy all had plenty to say about this one. Bello hung tough early without his best stuff.

  Red Sox sold AAA utility player Eddy Alvarez to the Mets. Alvarez, 34, spent the season with Worcester, hitting .247 with an .812 OPS over 114 games. Alvarez had 3 HRs and 6 RBIs against Rochester on Saturday. Former Sox infielder Pablo Reyes was DFA'd to make room for Alvarez
