  • Padres' Ty Harvey: Back in action at Single-A

    Harvey (finger) has gone 0-for-6 with three walks, one stolen base and one run in two games for Single-A Lake Elsinore since being activated from the 60-day injured list Saturday. Harvey had been on the shelf since May 26 after fracturing a finger on his left hand. The 20-year-old catcher has been limited to just 17 games with Lake Elsinore this season due to injury but has been productive when available, slashing .302/.448/.396 with five doubles and six stolen bases.

  • Padres' Ty Harvey: Embarks on rehab assignment

    Single-A Lake Elsinore sent Harvey (finger) on a rehab assignment in the Arizona Complex League on July 16. Per J.J. Cooper of Baseball America, Harvey missed a month early this year with a hamstring injury and made it back May 12, only to break a finger on his left hand 10 days later when he was hit by a backswing while catching. In 24 games this season including rehab assignments, the 19-year-old catcher is hitting .338/.432/.486 with one home run, five steals and a 25 percent strikeout rate.
