Smith has appeared in four games and is averaging 1.5 points, 2.0 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 0.8 steals in 12.3 minutes since making his season debut Nov. 5. Tuesday's game was Smith's season high in minutes (19) and his third consecutive game (disregarding a DNP on Nov. 10) in which he played at least 10 minutes. As Terry Rozier (groin), Frank Ntilikina (leg) and James Bouknight (knee) all recover from their respective injuries, Smith should continue to see extended playing time.... See More ... See Less

Hornets' Ish Smith: Good to go against Indiana
Smith (coditioning) isn't on the injury report for Saturday's game versus the Pacers. Smith will be available to make his season debut for Charlotte after missing time while returning to competitive conditioning. The veteran point guard could receive backup minutes behind LaMelo Ball in the backcourt.... See More ... See Less -
Hornets' Ish Smith: Still out against Houston
Smith won't play in Wednesday's game versus the Rockets due to return to competition reconditioning. Smith has yet to play for the Hornets after signing with the team just ahead of Opening Night. The veteran guard's next chance to suit up is Saturday's matchup with Indiana.... See More ... See Less -
Hornets' Ish Smith: Won't play Wednesday
Smith (coach's decision) won't play in Wednesday's regular-season opener against the Hawks, Josh Robbins of The Athletic reports. Smith is healthy, but he won't be part of the Opening Night rotation. In his absence, Theo Maledon and rookie Nick Smith are candidates for minutes behind LaMelo Ball and Terry Rozier.... See More ... See Less -
Hornets' Ish Smith: Signs with Hornets
Smith signed a contract and joined Charlotte's active roster Tuesday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports. Smith fills a sudden backup point guard need in Charlotte, as Frank Ntilikina (leg fracture) is set to miss at least a month. The 35-year-old returns to Charlotte for his second stint with the franchise and will split backcourt bench minutes with rookie Nick Smith.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Has nine dimes in victory
Smith had zero points (0-3 FG, 0-3 3Pt), two rebounds, nine assists and one steal over 23 minutes during Sunday's 109-95 victory over Sacramento. Smith tallied a season-high nine assists in the win, eclipsing 20 minutes for the second time in the past three games. Unfortunately, he failed to score, souring what could have been a productive outing. Heading into the playoffs, Smith is likely to be used as a depth piece should the team fall foul of the whistle.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Plays 15 minutes Friday
Smith chipped in two points (1-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and one block in 15 minutes during Friday's 100-93 loss to Phoenix. With numerous regulars sidelined, Smith saw his most playing time since Feb. 15. He struggled mightily from the field and committed two turnovers in limited action, but he did dish out four assists. Denver is expected to be back to full strength Tuesday in Houston, so Smith figures to revert to an end-of-bench role for the Nuggets, assuming that's the case moving forward.... See More ... Nuggets' Ish Smith: Exits rotation
Smith (coach's decision) didn't leave the bench in Tuesday's 116-115 loss to the Mavericks. After playing no fewer than 13 minutes in any of the Nuggets' last five games, Smith found himself outside of Denver's rotation while head coach Michael Malone turned to Bones Hyland and Christian Braun as his main guards off the bench. Hyland rewarded Malone for his faith by producing 20 points, five assists and four rebounds in 30 minutes, while Braun's contributions (five points in 16 minutes) were more muted. Because both Hyland and Braun are recent first-round picks, the Nuggets could continue to make them priorities over Smith, a 34-year-old journeyman on an expiring deal who lacks size as perimeter shooting.... Nuggets' Ish Smith: Vintage performance Monday
Smith amassed 10 points (5-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt), five rebounds, eight assists, one block and two steals across 26 minutes during Monday's 129-113 victory over the Rockets. Smith came out of nowhere to deliver easily his best game of the season Monday. Having played in just six games prior to this effort, it's safe to say that managers did not see this coming. Before making any moves, we need to account for the fact this game was a blowout and the Nuggets were without a number of key pieces. This would need to be something he does for more than one game before people should sit up to take notice.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Active Friday
Smith (calf) will suit up for Friday's game against the Clippers. Smith will make a return from a right calf strain that has held him out for the entire month of November. However, Smith has averaged just 4.6 minutes across five appearances this season and shouldn't factor much into the rotation considering his lengthy absence and minimal role.... See More ... Nuggets' Ish Smith: Questionable vs. Clips
Smith (calf) is questionable for Friday's matchup against the Clippers. Smith is nearing a return. The extra depth will benefit Denver, but he's yet to see more than eight minutes in a game this season across five appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Out again Wednesday
Smith (calf) will not play Wednesday at OKC, Mike Singer of the Denver Post reports. Smith will miss a 10th straight game as he continues to deal with a strained calf. At this point, it's completely unclear if he's anywhere close to making his return to action.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Questionable Wednesday
Smith (calf) is questionable for Wednesday's matchup at Oklahoma City. Smith's calf strain has kept him out since Nov. 3, but he's on the verge of a return. He'll presumably be on a minutes limit in his first game back.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Out Tuesday
Smith (calf) is won't play Tuesday against Detroit, Harrison Wind of TheDNVR.com reports. The veteran will remain out for a ninth straight matchup. Smith hasn't played since logging eight minutes Oct. 30 against the Lakers.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Questionable Tuesday
Smith (calf) is questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Pistons, Katy Winge of Altitude Sports reports. The veteran point guard is listed as questionable for Tuesday after missing each of Denver's last nine games. If Smith ultimately can't suit up, his next chance to return comes Wednesday in Oklahoma City.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Won't play Sunday
Smith (calf) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Mavericks. Smith was questionable ahead of Sunday's matchup but will be forced to miss a ninth consecutive game due to a strained right calf. His next chance to return will be Tuesday against Detroit.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Questionable versus Dallas
Smith (calf) has been upgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the Mavericks. Smith has missed the past eight games with the right calf strain, but he looks like he has a chance at making it back for Sunday's contest. Even if he's available ahead of the 7:30 p.m. ET tip off, Smith may only be in store for a limited role as the Nuggets' backup point guard.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Doubtful for Sunday
Smith (calf) has been listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Mavericks. The veteran point guard has missed eight games in a row and 10 overall during the current campaign, so he has struggled to find any consistency off the bench for Denver. Even if he ends up being available, Smith shouldn't be a big factor in most fantasy formats.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Out as expected
Smith (calf) will not play Friday against the Mavericks. Friday's contest marks eight straight absences for Smith due to a right calf strain, and with Jamal Murray (COVID-19 protocols), Nikola Jokic (COVID-19 protocols) and Aaron Gordon (illness) out, the Nuggets will be short-handed. Bones Hyland and Bruce Brown should receive plenty of run in the backcourt Friday. Smith's next opportunity to take the floor will come on Sunday in a rematch with Dallas.... See More ... See Less -
Nuggets' Ish Smith: Unlikely to play Friday
Smith (calf) is listed as doubtful for Friday's game against the Mavericks. Smith was listed as doubtful ahead of Denver's previous game before ultimately being ruled out for a seventh consecutive contest. It appears he'll likely remain sidelined Friday, so Bruce Brown and Bones Hyland should handle most of the point guard duties with Jamal Murray (COVID-19 protocols) out.... See More ... See Less
