  • Nuggets' Ish Smith: Dealt to Denver

Smith was traded to the Nuggets from the Wizards on Wednesday, along with Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, in exchange for Will Barton and Monte Morris, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. For Denver, the motivation behind the deal appears to be ducking the luxury tax line to begin the year, as Smith's deal is fully non-guaranteed. With that in mind, it's unclear if the Nuggets plan to keep the veteran point guard, who joins his NBA-record 13th team. If he does stick around, the 33-year-old Smith will primarily compete with Bones Hyland for minutes behind Jamal Murray (knee).

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Near triple-double Tuesday

Smith recorded 11 points (5-14 FG, 1-2 3Pt), eight rebounds, 14 assists and one steal over 30 minutes during Tuesday's 132-114 victory over Minnesota. Smith continued his fine play off the bench recently by almost tallying a triple-double in the Wizards' dominating win. His fantastic performance in the passing game led the team by a wide margin and it also completely demolished his previous season high of nine. It was also the veteran's first double-double of the season.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Another solid performance off bench

Smith posted 16 points (8-10 FG), one rebound, five assists and two steals in 28 minutes during Sunday's 144-102 loss to Boston. Smith was efficient from the field en route to a second consecutive double-digit scoring performance off the bench. Over his last two contests, the backup point guard has averaged 14.0 points, 7.0 assists, 2.5 rebounds and 1.0 steals in 29.0 minutes per game.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Productive off bench

Smith produced 12 points (6-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds, nine assists and one block over 30 minutes during Friday's 135-103 win over Dallas. Smith was one of six Wizards to score in double figures during Friday's comfortable victory, and he came within one assist of a double-double. He's scored in double figures in two of his last six appearances and has averaged 9.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 6.0 assists in 23.2 minutes per game during that time.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Leads team with 17 points in loss

Smith had 17 points (8-14 FG, 1-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, six assists and one steal over 28 minutes during Thursday's 114-102 loss to the Bucks. Smith took the lead Thursday, pacing the team in scoring with 17 points. While this was a productive night for the veteran, it certainly feels like a bit of an outlier. To put this effort in perspective, it was the first time he has scored in double-digits in his previous five outings, and his highest points total since late January. The inconsistency in both playing time and production leaves Smith as just a deeper league asset.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Plays only 14 minutes in loss

Smith logged four points (2-10 FG, 0-2 3Pt), four rebounds and one assist in 14 minutes during Friday's 100-97 loss to New York. Smith was a non-factor Friday, logging a mere 14 minutes off the bench. The Wizards have no real clear direction when it comes to their point guard situation right now, meaning Smith should have a chance to right the ship. However, he's displayed limited upside at this point in his career, and there is little reason to think he can be anything more than a streaming option for those in need of assists.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Triple-double ish

Smith registered 13 points (6-8 FG, 1-3 3Pt), seven rebounds, nine assists and two steals over 28 minutes during Sunday's 133-123 win over Indiana. Smith flirted with a triple-double Sunday, fueled by a season high in rebounds and assists. The journeyman 33-year-old has never logged a triple-double, making his versatile performance in just 28 minutes Sunday a tease at what could have been. Smith's numbers have climbed across the board since being jettisoned from Charlotte, but his fantasy relevance remains hit-or-miss.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Dishes out team-high eight assists

Smith finished Tuesday's 116-113 win over the Pistons with 11 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt), four rebounds and eight assists across 23 minutes. Smith scored in double figures for the fourth time over his last five games and dished out a team-high eight assists, tying his season high. Over his last eight appearances, the point guard has averaged 9.7 points, 5.3 assists and 3.0 rebounds in 22.1 minutes per game. Smith has a stronghold on the top backup guard spot right now, but recently acquired Tomas Satoransky, who made his Wizards debut Tuesday, figures to compete for some of those minutes moving forward.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: This Ish crazy

Smith produced 15 points (7-10 FG, 1-3 3Pt), two rebounds, six assists and one block over 27 minutes during Thursday's 117-103 victory over the Nets. Smith supplied 11 points and three assists in a game-defining fourth quarter, as the Wizards took the lead and never looked back. Smith logged a game-high six assists and has quietly been a strong boost to the Wizards backcourt. All Washington bench pieces may see a small uptick in productivity playing alongside a true point guard like Smith.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Team-high six assists

Smith posted eight points (4-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt), two rebounds, six assists and one steal across 20 minutes during Monday's 103-94 win over Detroit. Despite only playing in two games since being acquired from the Hornets, Smith has stepped up as a top distributor in Washington, recording a team-high 11 assists over his two appearances. Smith remains far removed from fantasy radar, but he could have streaming value in deeper leagues should Raul Neto ever miss time.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Will debut Saturday

Smith will make his Wizards debut during Saturday's matchup against the Kings, Chase Hughes of NBC Sports Washington reports. Smith will come off the bench but could see significant minutes at point guard behind Raul Neto. It remains to be seen how the team's new point guard rotation will shake out, but Cassius Winston could also be involved.

  • Wizards' Ish Smith: Back with Wizards

Smith and Vernon Carey were traded from the Hornets to the Wizards on Thursday in exchange for Montrezl Harrell, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports. Smith inked a two-year deal with Charlotte in August after he spent the previous two seasons with the Wizards, but he'll now return to Washington. He failed to carve out a consistent role with the Hornets, as he averaged 4.5 points and 2.6 assists in 13.8 minutes per game with the team. The 33-year-old had a slightly more prominent role during his stint with the Wizards and will attempt to reclaim some of that production now that he's back with the team.

  • Hornets' Ish Smith: Productive in garbage time Saturday

Smith provided eight points (4-6 FG, 0-1 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists and one steal over 12 minutes during Saturday's 104-86 loss to the Heat. Smith saw additional run down the stretch as the Hornets shifted into training mode after a disastrous third quarter. Smith has proven his ability to put up numbers when afforded a few extra minutes. Unfortunately, his path to playing time is littered with obstacles, leaving him off the radar in most fantasy leagues.

  • Hornets' Ish Smith: Explodes for 22 points off bench

Smith notched 22 points (10-12 FG, 2-3 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and one block in 26 minutes during Friday's 117-114 victory over the Lakers. After three straight scoreless outings, Smith exploded for a season-high 22 points off the bench. The backup point guard also dished out five-plus assists for the seventh time this season. With Kelly Oubre (ankle) and Gordon Hayward (COVID-19 protocols) sidelined, Smith was part of a three-guard lineup to close out the game and nailed a couple of big shots to thwart the Lakers' potential comeback. Oubre and Hayward are expected to be back in the lineup soon, so Smith's fantasy potential will likely remain limited moving forward.

  • Hornets' Ish Smith: Solid effort off bench

Smith logged 13 points (5-8 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 2-2 FT), two rebounds, eight assists and one steal over 25 minutes during Sunday's 133-99 loss to the Suns. The Hornets struggled offensively but Smith was one of the team's most reliable performers, as he was one of the four players who scored in double digits and also ended just two assists away from posting a double-double. In fact, he paced the team in assists and the eight dimes tied his season-best output in that category. Unfortunately for smith, he typically holds a reduced role off the bench. He's scored in double digits just five times all season long, so he won't have a lot of upside going forward unless the Hornets run into some injury issues.

  • Hornets' Ish Smith: Scores six in return

Smith (COVID-19 protocols) finished with six points (3-6 FG, 0-2 3Pt), one rebound, two assists and one steal across 13 minutes during Friday's 125-116 loss to the Trail Blazers. Smith cleared the league's health and safety protocols Wednesday and was briefly sent to the G League's Greensboro Swarm. However, he returned to action for the parent club Friday and generated modest results off the bench. The 33-year-old has had an inconsistent role for the Hornets early in the season, but it's encouraging to see him back with the team.

  • Hornets' Ish Smith: Clears protocols, heads to G League

Smith cleared health and safety protocols and was assigned to the G League's Greensboro Swarm on Wednesday. Smith, who has missed the last four games due to COVID protocols, remains out for Wednesday's contest against the Spurs, but he will get a practice in with the G League squad. It's unclear how much time he will need to get his conditioning back, but the Hornets have two more games this week -- Friday at Portland and Sunday at Phoenix -- that could be potential return dates for Smith.

  • Hornets' Ish Smith: Out again Wednesday

Smith (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) has been ruled out for Wednesday's game at San Antonio. Smith will be sidelined for the fifth straight contest after landing in the COVID protocols. Jalen McDaniels has cleared said protocols and will be available for Wednesday's contest, while LaMelo Ball is also unavailable.

  • Hornets' Ish Smith: Remains out Monday

Smith (COVID-19 health and safety protocols) is listed as out for Monday's game against the Mavericks. Among the five Charlotte players who entered the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols earlier this month, only Terry Rozier has since been cleared to play Monday, but both Mason Plumlee and Jalen McDaniels completed their quarantines and could be ready to suit up Wednesday in San Antonio once they regain conditioning. According to Rod Boone of The Charlotte Observer, Smith and LaMelo Ball may also clear protocols in the next 24 hours, but at the very least, the two point guards along with Plumlee and McDaniels won't make the trip to Dallas, which marks the start of a six-game road trip for Charlotte. Smith will theoretically have a shot at rejoining the Hornets for Wednesday's game, but unless he's cleared to resume practicing Tuesday, his absence will most likely extend into the weekend. Monday's contest will mark the fourth consecutive missed game for Smith, who won't warrant much fantasy intrigue unless he returns to action before Ball does.

  • Hornets' Ish Smith: Won't play Monday

Smith has been ruled out for Monday's game against the 76ers due to the league's health and safety protocols. Smith filled in as a starter in Sunday's win over Atlanta, but he'll now join several of his teammates in the league's COVID-19 protocols. It's not yet clear when he'll be able to return, but Cody Martin, Kelly Oubre, James Bouknight and Scottie Lewis should see plenty of run in the Hornets' backcourt Monday.
