  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Won't go Saturday

Gobert (hip) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Spurs.

Gobert was added to the injury report earlier in the day due to a bruised left hip, and he's since been downgraded to out. This should open up more minutes for Naz Reid and Joan Beringer in the frontcourt.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Questionable due to hip injury

Gobert is listed as questionable for Saturday's game against the Spurs due to a left hip contusion.

Gobert may have picked up the injury during the Timberwolves' 110-105 loss to the Rockets on Friday, when he played 32 minutes and finished with 10 points (4-7 FG, 2-10 FT), 13 rebounds, one assist, two blocks and two steals. Naz Reid would likely enter the Timberwolves' starting lineup if Gobert is unable to play.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Gets one-game ban for flagrant foul

Gobert will be suspended for Tuesday's game against the Bucks after he triggered a one-game ban by accruing his fifth flagrant foul of the season in Sunday's 104-103 win over the Spurs, Jon Krawczynski of The Athletic reports.

The four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year drew the flagrant foul with 7:24 remaining in the fourth quarter, when he was deemed to have recklessly closed out on a Victor Wembanyama three-point attempt. Gobert was then handed a technical after bumping a referee while protesting the flagrant call, but he wasn't ejected from the game and finished the contest with two points (1-4 FG, 0-2 FT), 14 rebounds, three assists, one steal and one block in 29 minutes. Naz Reid now appears poised to start at center for the Timberwolves on Tuesday, but Gobert should be back in action Friday in Houston upon serving his one-game ban. Any future flagrant fouls that Gobert accrues over the rest of the season will result in a two-game suspension for the veteran center.

Gobert recorded his 16th double-double of the season and finished one rebound shy of his season-best mark (18). Gobert is trending up for the Timberwolves, posting third-round value in nine-category formats over his last seven games with 10.6 points, 11.9 rebounds, 0.9 assists and 2.4 blocks in 31.1 minutes per contest.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Posts second straight double-double

Gobert closed with 18 points (8-10 FG, 2-2 FT), 14 rebounds and four blocks over 29 minutes during Sunday's 141-115 victory over Washington.

Gobert was impressive on the offensive end and secured another double-double after racking up double-digit rebounds for a fourth consecutive appearance. He's been more aggressive as a scorer after being held to nine points or fewer in his last four games to close out December, putting up 13 and now 18 points in his first two matchups of January.

It was Gobert's 14th double-double of the season, and the 10th time in the last 11 games that the veteran center has pulled down double-digit boards. Over that stretch, he's averaged 11.0 points, 13.0 rebounds, 1.9 blocks, 1.7 assists and 1.0 steals.

Gobert nearly recorded his 14th double-double, and he notched four blocks for the fourth time this season. • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Double-double in win

Gobert closed with 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 FT), 16 rebounds, three blocks, two assists and two steals across 38 minutes in Tuesday's 115-104 win over the Knicks.

Gobert stuffed the stat sheet Tuesday en route to his 13th double-double of the season. The veteran is averaging under 12.0 points for the first time since 2015-16, but he's compensating with elevated efficiency, shooting better than 70.0 percent from the field for the first time since the 2021-22 campaign. Gobert will look to keep the double-doubles and strong defense coming in Thursday's Christmas matchup against the Nuggets.

Gobert totaled nine points (3-7 FG, 3-7 FT), 14 rebounds and one assist over 33 minutes during Friday's 112-107 win over the Thunder.

Isaiah Hartenstein was neutralized by Gobert, who outrebounded his opponent 14 to 10 and held the Oklahoma City center to just one point. Although Anthony Edwards' late-game heroics will grab the headlines for this game, the stalwart efforts from Gobert and teammate Julius Randle in the interior were the key difference-makers.

  • Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Double-doubles with five stocks

Gobert recorded 16 points (6-8 FG, 4-6 FT), 16 rebounds, four assists, one steal and four blocks across 35 minutes during Wednesday's 116-110 loss to the Grizzlies.

Gobert was limited to just seven points his last time out, but Minnesota did a much better job of keeping him involved in the offense in this one, consistently feeding him in the low post. Gobert has scored in double figures in three of the past four games, and he racked up four blocks Wednesday evening after having accumulated just two in his previous three outings.

On the month so far, Gobert is averaging 16.8 points, 10.8 boards, 1.8 assists, 0.8 blocks and 0.8 steals while shooting an absurd 80.5 percent from the floor -- he's missed only eight of his 41 FG attempts.

Gobert will finish with 15 points (7-9 FG, 1-2 FT), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal in 21 minutes. Naz Reid should see the majority of the center minutes the rest of the way, while Joan Beringer could enter the rotation.

Gobert recorded his eighth double-double of the season, including a season-high 26 points. For a player averaging 11.1 points per game through the first 21 games, this was an unexpected yet welcome surprise. The veteran center has put together a serviceable campaign to this point, averaging 10.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks to go with his 11.1 points per game.

Despite enduring another blown lead following a heartbreaking loss to Phoenix earlier in the week, Gobert once again demonstrated his ability to hit the double-double milestone regularly. A stat that has shown significant improvement over last season is field-goal percentage. Through 17 games, Gobert is converting shots at a 73.3-percent clip.

Gobert logged nine points (4-5 FG, 1-2 FT), 15 rebounds, three assists and one block across 36 minutes during Wednesday's 120-109 victory over Washington.

Gobert grabbed a game-high 15 rebounds, marking the most he has contributed in almost three weeks. It's been a relatively steady start to the season for the big man, who is averaging 10.6 points, 9.9 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 31.6 minutes per game through the first 15 games. While he isn't the elite rim protector he once was, he still provides managers with typical center numbers on a nightly basis.
