Celtics' Svi Mykhailiuk: Headed to Boston
The Celtics signed Mykhailiuk to a one-year contract Thursday, Michael Scotto of USA Today reports.
Mykhailiuk will join his seventh team in the last six seasons in 2023-24. Last season, he averaged 6.9 points, 1.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists in 14.6 minutes across 32 combined appearances for the Knicks and Hornets. While Mykhailiuk has shown to be a quality three-point shooter at points throughout his career, he is unlikely to receive significant minutes in Boston's guard rotation.

Hornets' Svi Mykhailiuk: Continues to produce
Mykhailiuk closed with 17 points (7-14 FG, 3-8 3Pt), five rebounds, seven assists and one steal across 34 minutes during Tuesday's 120-100 loss to the Raptors.
Mykhailiuk has started the last six contests for Charlotte and has totaled 16 or more points in each of the last four, hitting at a 44.4 percent rate from deep over that span while averaging 19.3 points, 6.3 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 2.3 steals-plus-blocks. He will likely finish out the campaign in a starting role, but it's not a stretch that should be viewed as a foreshadowing of things to come in 2023-24.

Hornets' Svi Mykhailiuk: Goes for career-high 26 in loss
Mykhailiuk recorded a career-high 26 points (10-17 FG, 5-9 3Pt, 1-1 FT) to go with five assists, four rebounds and two steals across 33 minutes in Sunday's 128-108 loss to the Raptors.
Mykhailiuk continues to get all the playing time he can handle while the Hornets have withheld several key rotation players from action over the past two weeks, as he's now cleared 30 minutes in six straight games. With Charlotte down seven players due to injury Sunday, Mykhailiuk saw his second-best highest usage rate (27.3 percent) of the second half and was able to pair the increased volume with strong efficiency en route to a new personal best in the scoring column. While Mykhailiuk's minutes should be stable as the Hornets close the season with a three-game week, he's converted at a lowly 40.4 percent rate from the field for his career, so his production may not be especially reliable from game to game even as he handles an elevated role.

Hornets' Svi Mykhailiuk: Continues impressive play
Mykhailiuk accumulated 16 points (7-12 FG, 2-5 3Pt), two rebounds, five assists and one block in 34 minutes during Friday's 121-91 loss to the Bulls.
Mykhailiuk has started four of the past five games, playing 30-plus minutes in all of them as the Hornets deal with a myriad of injuries. He's been impressive, averaging 13.8 points on 46/41/80 shooting, 4.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 1.2 steals with just 1.0 turnovers. The wing's role could be reduced if Gordon Hayward (thumb), Kelly Oubre (shoulder) and Terry Rozier (foot) return, but the Hornets really have no reason to bring those veterans back.

Hornets' Svi Mykhailiuk: Does it all in win
Mykhailiuk amassed 18 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 4-6 FT), five rebounds, eight assists, two blocks and three steals in 37 minutes during Tuesday's 137-134 win over Oklahoma City.
Mykhailiuk has drawn three straight starts with the Hornets banged up, but his outing Tuesday was by far his best of the campaign. The Kansas product notched season highs in points, assists, rebounds, steals and blocks while the Hornets' makeshift lineup secured a three-point win over Oklahoma City, who was without Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (ankle). When Gordon Hayward (thumb), Kelly Oubre (shoulder), Terry Rozier (foot) and Dennis Smith (toe) are off the injury report, Mykhailiuk's fantasy value will take a major hit, but he's certainly proven he's capable of viable production when given a starting-level role, and the Hornets are well out of playoff contention, so more starter rests may be forthcoming down the stretch.

Hornets' Svi Mykhailiuk: Plays season-high 30 minutes
Mykhailiuk recorded 15 points (6-12 FG, 3-8 3Pt), two rebounds, one assist and one steal across 30 minutes during Thursday's 115-96 loss to the Pelicans.
With Terry Rozier (foot), Kelly Oubre (shoulder) and Dennis Smith (illness) all leaving the contest early, plenty of reserves got extra minutes, but Mykhailiuk led the bench in minutes played and points, which were both also season highs for the Kansas product. Mykhailiuk has played at least 20 minutes just three times this season, but he's averaged 12.0 points on 46.9 percent shooting during those contests. It's unclear how serious their respective injuries are, but if Rozier and Oubre have to miss time, Mykhailiuk could move into the starting lineup and see this type of usage on a regular basis.

Mykhailiuk logged 16 minutes off the bench, appearing for just the third time in the past six games as a member of the Hornets. The fact he has played in only 16 games all season should tell you everything you need to know about his lack of fantasy appeal. Even in the deepest formats, managers would be better served to target player with at least a small amount of upside.

Hornets' Svi Mykhailiuk: Off injury report
Mykhailiuk isn't included on the Hornets' injury report for Monday's game against the Hawks.
After being acquired Thursday, Mykhailiuk missed the Hornets' game Friday in Boston before joining the team ahead of Saturday's game against Denver. Because he didn't get the chance to practice with his new team, Mykhailiuk was ultimately inactive for the 119-105 loss to the Nuggets, but he should dress for Monday's game now that he's had more time to get acclimated. Though he'll have a clearer path to getting playing time off the bench in Charlotte than he did in New York earlier this season, Mykhailiuk may still find himself outside of the rotation if head coach Steve Clifford opts to use a short bench featuring Dennis Smith and Bryce McGowens as the primary reserve options on the wing.

Coach Steve Clifford said he hopes the new addition will be ready for Monday's game against the Hawks. Mykhailiuk appeared in just 13 games for the Knicks before the deadline, totaling 21 points, seven rebounds, one assist and one steal in 40 minutes. While he's not expected to have a fantasy-relevant role with Charlotte, he should have more opportunities, given that the Hornets' rotation is thinner and the playoffs are well out of the picture.

The Trail Blazers acquired Mykhailiuk, Cam Reddish, Ryan Arcidiacono and a protected 2023 first-round draft pick from the Knicks on Wednesday in exchange for Josh Hart, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
Mykhailiuk has found himself on the outside of the rotation in Toronto and New York over the past two seasons, and he'll continue to face an uphill battle to earning consistent minutes off the bench with the move to Portland. Though the departure of Hart opens up a regular 30-plus-minute role, Gary Payton, Shaedon Sharpe, Nassir Little and the newly acquired Reddish profile as more realistic candidates to fill the void.

Hornets' Svi Mykhailiuk: Moved to Charlotte
The Hornets acquired Mykhailiuk and second-round picks in 2023 and 2027 on Thursday in a three-team trade that sent Jalen McDaniels, a 2024 second-round pick and a 2029 second-round pick to the 76ers and Matisse Thybulle to the Trail Blazers, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.
The Hornets are primarily acquiring draft picks as part of the deal, but they could also get a look at Mykhailiuk in a small role off the bench. The fifth-year wing didn't see much playing time in the tight Knicks rotation prior to the trade, averaging 3.1 minutes in his 13 appearances this season.
