Poeltl notched 14 points (6-8 FG, 2-2 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and one steal over 16 minutes during Monday's 147-127 loss to the Trail Blazers. Poeltl couldn't escape foul trouble in the loss, managing just 15 minutes of playing time. However, he still managed to put together a decent performance, scoring in double digits for the fourth consecutive game. His block numbers have fallen away of late, however, as he's failed to block a shot for two consecutive games. The trade rumors continue to swirl, and while it would make sense for the Spurs to at least consider offers, nothing is certain in this league.... See More ... See Less

Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Lights out from field in loss
Poeltl notched 23 points (10-12 FG, 3-6 FT), seven rebounds, two assists and two blocks across 31 minutes during Sunday's 132-119 loss to the Kings. Poeltl didn't miss a shot until the final period, going 9-of-9 from the field for 21 points through the first three quarters as the Spurs fought, albeit unsuccessfully, to avoid their fifth consecutive loss. He finished with a team-high scoring total and his most since Nov. 15. Poeltl also posted two blocks Sunday, reaching that feat for the third time over his last five contests.... See More ... Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Solid at both ends Wednesday
Poeltl logged 17 points (7-13 FG, 3-5 FT), 12 rebounds and five blocks over 26 minutes during Wednesday's 135-129 loss to the Grizzlies. Poeltl looked impressive and had a strong game on both ends of the court, posting a double-double for the third time over his last six appearances and registering a season-high mark in blocks. The veteran big man is having one of the best seasons of his career and is averaging 12.1 points, 9.5 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game, with the latter two being career-best marks for him.... Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Will play Monday
Poeltl (Achilles) is available for Monday's matchup against the Grizzlies, Ty Jager of PoundingTheRock.com reports. As expected, Poeltl will return to action Monday following a one-game absence due to an Achilles issue. Over his past nine appearances, the starting center has averaged 10.7 points, 9.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.4 blocks in 25.6 minutes per game.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Likely to return Monday
Poeltl (Achilles) is listed as probable for Monday's game at Memphis, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Poeltl missed Saturday's game against the Celtics due to the Achilles issue, but the fact that he's been listed as probable gives him a solid chance to play Monday. His return would provide quite a boost to San Antonio's frontcourt, as Poeltl is averaging 10.1 points and 8.8 rebounds per game since the start of December.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Won't play Saturday
Poeltl will not take the floor Saturday versus the Celtics due to left Achilles bursitis, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Poeltl has missed time previously due to a knee issue, but this is the first mention of an Achilles problem. With the big man sidelined, Zach Collins and Charles Bassey -- who was recalled from the G League on Saturday -- are the likely top candidates to absorb most of his minutes.... See More ... Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Another impressive double-double
Poeltl registered 11 points (4-5 FG, 3-4 FT), 16 rebounds, seven assists, three blocks and two steals over 32 minutes during Friday's 121-109 victory over Detroit. Poetl's rebound and assist totals marked new season highs, and he complemented the production in those categories with five counters on the defensive end. The 27-year-old center will likely be a sought-after commodity at the trade deadline, but it's unclear if the non-contending Spurs will look to move him unless the price is right.... See More ... Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Posts impressive double-double
Poeltl amassed 19 points (7-10 FG, 5-7 FT), 15 rebounds and six assists across 30 minutes during Saturday's 126-125 loss to the Mavericks. Poeltl hasn't been a consistent double-double threat, but the fact that he's posted double-digit points and/or rebounds in each of his last four contests shows he's still a reliable fantasy performer. The big man is averaging 11.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per contest over his last eight appearances.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Hosts block party Monday
Poeltl ended with 16 points (6-6 FG, 4-5 FT), nine rebounds, four blocks, two assists and two steals across 24 minutes during Monday's 126-122 victory over the Jazz. Poeltl was a perfect 6-for-6 from the field and missed just one of his five free-throw attempts, yet his best work was as a defender. The big man swatted four shots in the victory, tying his season-high mark. Poeltl finished one rebound shy of a double-double, which would have been his first since a massive 31-point, 14-board performance against Portland on Nov. 15.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Cleared to play Thursday
Poeltl (knee) is available to play in Thursday's matchup with the Pelicans. Poeltl has been upgraded from probable to available Thursday. It is uncertain if the veteran big man will play in Friday's game, considering it is the second leg of a back-to-back.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Likely to play against New Orleans
Poeltl is probable to play in Thursday's game versus the Pelicans due to right knee soreness, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Poeltl has played the last two games after missing the previous seven due to a knee injury. The 27-year-old big man has started in all 27 of his appearances this season. There is a chance Poeltl sits out Friday's game against Orlando, as it is the second night of a back-to-back.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Battles foul issues Monday
Poeltl finished with eight points (4-6 FG), five rebounds, one assist and two blocks across 22 minutes during Monday's 124-105 victory over the Rockets. Poeltl was limited to just 22 minutes in the win, hampered by foul trouble once again. Since returning from injury, he has been playing with a minute restriction, something else to factor in when deciphering his lack of production. Given the recent injury and slow uptake, managers may be starting to get a little frustrated, meaning this could be a potential buy-low opportunity.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Gets limited run in return
Poeltl (knee) started and played 21 minutes in Saturday's 111-101 loss to the Heat, finishing with seven points (3-6 FG, 1-4 FT), seven rebounds and two steals. Poeltl was on a minutes cap in his first game since Nov. 26, after a right knee bruise kept him sidelined for the Spurs' previous seven contests. Prior to Saturday, Poeltl had been averaging 27.3 minutes per game for the season, so expect him to return to his normal level of playing time in another contest or two. With Poetl back in action Saturday, Zach Collins moved to the bench after serving as the primary starter while Poeltl was out.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Facing 20-minute limit
Poeltl will play no more than 20 minutes in Saturday's game against the Heat, Tom Osborn of the San Antonio Express-News reports. As expected, Poeltl will be on a minutes restriction Saturday after missing multiple weeks with a right knee injury. Despite the limitations, Poeltl can be expected to regain the starting center role.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Cleared to play Saturday
Poeltl (knee) will take the floor Saturday versus the Heat, Ty Jager of PoundingTheRock.com reports. Poeltl figures to retake his spot in the starting unit upon his return, though it's unclear if he will face any sort of minutes restriction following a multi-week absence.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Likely to play Saturday
Poeltl (knee) is listed as probable for Saturday's contest against the Heat, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Poeltl has missed seven consecutive games due to a right knee injury but is slated to return to the hardwood Saturday. His return could spell fewer minutes for Charles Bassey and Zach Collins (ankle), who is also probable for the contest.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Won't play Wednesday
Poeltl (knee) has been ruled out for Wednesday's matchup against the Trail Blazers. Poeltl is slated to miss a seventh straight game due to a knee injury. Zach Collins (ankle) had been starting in Poeltl's place, but he's considered doubtful for Wednesday's contest, leaving Charles Bassey, Gorgui Dieng and Isaiah Roby as candidates to start at center against Portland.... Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Still out
Poeltl (knee) has been ruled out for Monday's matchup against the Cavaliers, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Poeltl is slated to miss a sixth straight game due to a knee injury. Zach Collins is expected to remain in the starting lineup for the duration of Poeltl's absence.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Remains out Saturday
Poeltl (knee) has been ruled out for Saturday's game against the Heat, Paul Garcia of ProjectSpurs.com reports. Poeltl will miss a fifth consecutive game as he deals with a right knee bruise. Zach Collins will likely continue to start for San Antonio, while Poeltl's next chance to return to the court will be Monday against Cleveland.... See More ... See Less -
Spurs' Jakob Poeltl: Officially ruled out Thursday
Poeltl (knee) is listed out for Thursday's game against the Rockets, Ty Jager of PoundingTheRock.com reports. A report earlier in the day suggested Poeltl would likely miss the contest, and the team has now officially confirmed as such after he missed practice Wednesday. The big man's next opportunity to suit up arrives Saturday versus the Heat, while Zach Collins, Charles Bassey and Gorgui Dieng are candidates to shoulder heavier workloads in his absence....
