  • Pistons' Braxton Key: Delivers new career-best game

Key provided 12 points (5-11 FG, 1-2 3Pt, 1-2 FT), nine rebounds, three steals and two assists across 28 minutes during Sunday's 121-117 victory over the Pacers. After supplying a career-high 10 points Friday, Key build on that scoring total Sunday while also flirting with a double-double for the second game in a row. Key has taken advantage of several Pistons being out of the lineup of late, and he should remain a fixture in the rotation for the final week of the season after having his 10-day deal converted to a one-year, two-way contract earlier Sunday.

  • Pistons' Braxton Key: Expected to sign two-way contract

Key is expected to sign a two-way contract with the Pistons on Sunday, JD Shaw of Hoops Rumors reports. Key's 10-day contract will expire at the end of Sunday, but it appears Detroit will keep the undrafted rookie out of Virginia around for the final four games of the regular season. With Marvin Bagley (hip) and Kelly Olynyk (rest) sidelined Friday, Key posted 10 points (5-12 FG), nine rebounds and two blocks in 30 minutes -- by far his best performance at the NBA level this season.

  • Pistons' Braxton Key: Flirts with double-double

Key racked up 10 points (5-12 FG, 0-2 3Pt, 0-1 FT), nine rebounds, one assist, two blocks and one steal across 30 minutes before fouling out of Friday's 110-101 victory over the Thunder. With Marvin Bagley (hip) and Kelly Olynyk (rest) ruled out ahead of the contest and Saddiq Bey (hip) only playing six minutes, Key saw an increased opportunity and set season highs in points, rebounds and assists. The undrafted rookie out of Virginia has made five appearances since signing a 10-day contract with the Pistons and has averaged 6.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 20.2 minutes per game.

Key has found his stride recently, as he's now posted double-doubles in each of the last three contests while shooting 44.9 percent from the floor during that time. The 6-foot-8, 230-pound forward is capable of guarding multiple positions and should shore up the 76ers' depth in the short term while five players are in the NBA's COVID-19 health and safety protocols and while Ben Simmons (personal) remains away from the team indefinitely.
